Fatal Attraction (Edward Cullen Love Story)

Graduation

Maddy sit beside Alice on Rosalie's bed as they watched the blond curl her hair for graduation. School passed quickly after prom. All that was really left was finals, which Maddy passed. Maddy felt kind of uneasy being so close to Rosalie, but she was learning to deal with it. The blond hadn't said a negative comment to her the entire day-- maybe she was accepting her?

"I still don't like you. . ." Rosalie said.

Maddy sighed, or maybe not.

"I haven't done anything to you." Maddy said.
"Not today!" Alice said, hoping to avoid a fight.
"You and Edward shouldn't be together. It's wrong." Rosalie said, still curling her hair.
"What's so wrong about it?" Maddy ask.
"Can we please not talk about this?" Alice pleaded.

Rosalie was her sister, and Maddy was her friend. She didn't want the two of them getting into it, especially on graduation.

"He's a vampire-- you're a human. Isn't that enough said?"
"And one day I'm going to be a vampire as well. So, shouldn't you deal with it?" Maddy snapped, and then stormed out of the room. She was done with Rosalie's attitude.

"Way to go, Rose!" Alice hissed.
"She doesn't belong with us!"
"YES SHE DOES. I'VE SAW IT. You know what else I saw? You accepting her as a sister. So suck it up now, Rosalie. Because she will be one of us." Alice said storming out of the room.

Maddy found Esme in the kitchen and decided to hang out with her until they left. Edward, Jasper, Emmett, and Carlisle were all hunting before graduation.

"What did she say to you?" Esme ask.
"How do you know she said something?"
"You're so easy to read when you're upset."

Maddy sighed, "She just doesn't like me."
"Rosalie's not as accepting as the rest of us at first-- she'll come around. Don't worry." Esme said.

Maddy smiled gently, and waited on the kitchen stool for Edward to come. She missed him so much. She beamed with joy when the front door opened up and the loud voice of Emmett filled the air. Edward came in second, and came over to her side quickly. She tossed her arms around him and pulled him close.

"Miss me much?" He ask.
"I missed you a lot!" Maddy admitted.

He chuckled, as he placed a kiss on her cheek.

"You two! Go get ready for graduation!" Esme pointed to Jasper and Emmett.

Maddy held tightly onto Edward's hand as everyone walked down the stairs ready for graduation.

"Alice and Jasper are riding with us." Edward said.
"Neat." Maddy said smiling.

The eight of them made their way out to the vehicles. Alice and Jasper were seated in the back of the Volvo holding hands. Maddy grinned as she looked over at Edward. He was following behind Carlisle to graduation. Jasper was very quiet, and hardly ever talked to Maddy, but at least he was nice, unlike Rosalie. They arrived at the school a bit later.

Maddy got out of the Volvo and waved at her mother, and little sister who were getting out of their vehicles. Claire also got out, and Maddy smiled lightly at her-- noticing her mascara stained cheeks. She was clearly sad about Chase graduating, and eventually leaving Forks.

"Come on." Edward said, ushering her forward.

Everyone took their seats and graduation began. Luckily, Maddy's family was sitting beside Edward's. Susan and Esme were talking through the entire ceremony. Alice was smiling wide as she watched Jasper walk across the stage. She whistled loudly, and then watched Rosalie follow behind him.

"I'm so proud of them." Esme said to Susan.
"It's great seeing children grow up, isn't it?" Susan said.

Esme frowned. She had actually never got to see a child grow up, even though she longed to do so. She nodded her head though, as Carlisle stroked her hand.

"There's Bella and Jacob." Alice mumbled.

Edward moved his eyes over and starred at Bella Swan and Jacob Black who were seated towards the front, near the stage. He was wondering what they were doing here-- but he assumed like most of Forks, they just wanted to be apart of the audience.

The graduation ended, and most of the seniors and their families left. Several small parties were being hosted all over Forks for the different clicks. Claire was attending one with Chase, and Alice had already warned Maddy, that after tonight, their relationship would be history. Maddy would spend all day tomorrow comforting Claire and letting her know that life goes on.

"What are Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper going to do?"
"Rosalie and Emmett are catching a plane tonight, and Jasper isn't doing anything." Edward said.
"Oh! Their honeymoon?" Maddy ask softly.

Edward nodded his head. They walked over to his siblings, and Maddy congratulated each one of them, even Rosalie who just stuck her nose up.

"Don't worry-- She won't always be like that." Edward whispered in her ear.

She turned around and smiled at him, but watched as his eyes turned from soft to hard in just a matter of seconds. She slowly turned around and saw Jacob walking towards her. Edward's arms were wrapped around her protectively.

"Hey Maddy." Jacob said.

All of the Cullen's looked at Jacob like he was a disease, but he wasn't bothered by it. He knew they wouldn't try anything now, not right out in the open.

"Hi Jacob."

Maddy heard Rosalie mumble something, but she couldn't make out what. She decided to ignore the blond, and live up to what she had promised Jacob-- friendship.

"Bella and I are going out to dinner. . . We were just wondering if you and Edward would like to join us."

Edward huffed behind her. She smiled weakly.

"I think that'd be a bit awkward." Maddy answered honestly.

Jacob chuckled, "Bella said that too-- but hey, it was worth a try. I'll see you around then." Jacob said walking off.

All eyes were on Edward, as Maddy slowly turned around and looked up into his eyes that were slowly softening.

"See-- he's not trying to push himself on me."
"Or maybe he's just trying to make you think that so you'll put your guard down." Edward mumbled.
"What was he thinking?"
"He was thinking about dinner with Bella." Edward said.
"See-- nothing about me." Maddy said smiling.
"I still don't trust him."

Alice walked over, "Edward-- you have nothing to worry about. Remember, I can't see Bella's future, which means they are probably together, and I see Maddy's clear, and she's with you in it."
"I'm aware of what you see-- but the future changes." Edward said.
"Not for us." Maddy said, reaching up and placing a kiss on his lips.

He sighed, "I love you. . . you know that right?" Edward said grinning.
