Aeon's POV

"I don't know what you're talking about" hirap kong sagot. My sight is starting to be clouded by light. I can't die right now. I refused to die like this.

"You still can't remember?" he asked then threw me away. I shook my head to at least ease the dizziness in my head.

"Try to remember what you unveil that night. The reason why they want to kill you. That made them kill Cannary instead" galit niyang sabi saka niya pinutol ang paa ng isang kahoy. He's really going to kill me.

"I loathed you for that. That's the reason why I want to kill you right now. It's because of you" dagdag niya habang naglalakad palapit sa akin. Pinilit kong makatayo kahit hirap na hirap na ako.

"Think Cordea" his growl resonates through the whole building. I tried to remember what he's making me remember when a memory flashes through my mind. A map.

"That map was where you humans live" ani ko.

"At last, you remembered"

"But what do the shifters have to do with all of these?" nagtatakang tanong ko.

"Unfortunately, you creatures share the same desires. Shifters laid their eyes on that map first but you happen to know about it too. It's not the vampires who put you into an eternal sleep, it's them. Because they know that you'll be torn on their roses. They put you into a perpetual slumber because they fear that you might kill them" sagot niya sa akin. Magtatanong na sana ako ng biglang yumanig ang lupa. Napatingin ako sa labas at isang building na ngayon ay tinutupok ng apoy ang nakita ko.

"No. Trasher!" sigaw ko saka ako tumakbo palabas kaso naunahan niya ako.

"Where are you going?" he asks while wearing a grin on his face. I glare at him.

"You should direct your anger and vengeance towards the shifters, not to us. I didn't even have the idea of telling about the map. We can live without you humans. We've been living without their help for decades now. I am the ruler of this island, do you really think that I'd waste my time hunting some pathetic and filthy beings?" I spat at him.

"Oh, the job of me killing you is a mission so no hard feelings," he said playfully.

"You think that our lives are merely worth that mission of yours? How low can you get? You, humans, are worst than evil" I spat. "Now move" utos ko sakanya.

"I'm sorry, hon. But as I've said earlier, I'm going to kill you here" he said then he stabbed me with the wood that he's holding earlier to my heart. I vomit plenty of blood. I can't feel anything. It's hard for me to breathe. I'm getting dizzier.

"Now, I'm going to kill that man of yours" when I heard him say that. I felt numb all of a sudden. He turns his back on me then started to walk away. Hinugot ko ang kahoy na sinaksak niya sa akin. I walk towards him then hugged him from the back using my left hand then I stabbed him on the back.

"I'm sorry but I can't let you kill him. Let's just die together instead. Besides, I don't want him to be with someone like me. He deserves better" ani ko sakanya saka ko diniinan ang pagkaka saksak sakanya. I let him go when he tried to turn around. Akala ko ay lalaban pa siya ngunit nagulat ako ng inangat niya ang kanyang isang kamay at hinawakan ako sa mukha.

"I wish in our next lives. We could just meet as ordinary persons" nakangiting aniya saka niya hinaplos ang mukha ko.

"I'm sorry, hon. I promised I'd protect you but I failed" dagdag pa niya. A tear escapes from his eyes as he started coughing blood.
