Chapter 13 - The Cavalry Battle

After getting a super quick bite to eat with Deku, we made our way back to the main stadium. Because we were the first two to finish, we had a bit of time to spend while we waited for everyone to finish. So what it we choose to do? Eat of course.

By now, Midnight has all 42 of us that passed the first round in the stadium, and is about to explain the next game.

"Welcome back everyone! I'm sure you're all very excited to see what event we'll have next! So please turn your attention to the spin wheel!" She says, and I look up.

"Looks like the 42 of you will be participating in a cavalry battle! So how will this work may you ask? Everyone will have a headband secured above their neck, with points on them. Based on where you placed in the race will decide how many points you start with! You will be divided in teams of 2-4 people, chosen by yourselves, and your team will attempt to take other's headbands while protecting your own! The four teams with the most points at the end will move on!"

"Now, you will have fifteen minutes to choose your teams! So get to it!" She finishes. "Oh wait, I almost forgot. Here are the amount of points you have to start with!" She says, pointing to the big screen.

I find my name right away. 205 points. Not bad. Considering I got second place means that the final totals won't be that much in the end. That's what I think, until I see Midoriya's points right above me.

"TEN MILLION POINTS!" I yell. "THAT'S INSANE!"

Midoriya seems to have a similar reaction, and they're his points. As much as I hate to say, there's no way I can be on his team. He will be easily targeted by almost everyone. So instead of sticking around, I slip out of his area, and try to find some teammates.

As I walk around to look, I see many of my classmates getting together. I'm happy to see that Midoriya has found some teammates, but I myself need to focus on finding some. Suddenly, I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Hey... Do you maybe want to be on my team? Your quirk is amazing, and will be super useful in this event. You're also lots of fun to be around, so I'd like to pair up with you." Says Todoroki. "I think that with my quirk combined with yours we'll be passing for sure."

I was about to happily agree, despite what he said earlier. That is, until somebody screams and interrupts me.

"HEY WITCH GIRL!" Bakugo yells.

"Um are you talking to me?" I ask.

Witch girl? 

"YEAH YOU! WE NEED ANOTHER PERSON! AND YOU'VE BEEN RECRUITED!"

"Actually Bakugo, first of all, I was going to be on Todoroki's team. Second, my name is not witch girl, it's-"

I am interrupted once again by Bakugo literally picking me up, and half dragging, half carrying me away from Todoroki.

Welp, I guess I'm on his team now.

I send Todoroki an apologetic glance, and he seems a bit upset, but then shrugs it off and goes to find some other teammates.

Bakugo puts me, or better, throws me down on the ground, and I land on my butt pretty hard.

"Hey dumbass, that hurt." I say.

Bakugo just ignores me, so I turn around to face my teammates. I am met with the faces of Kirishima and Sero. Not too bad. 

A/N - You will be replacing Mina in the festival from this point on cause I'm too lazy to come up with a whole new plan. (Sorry Mina)

"Hey Kayla! Sorry about Bakugo, he seems to be going a bit over the top with this whole thing," says Kirishima, scratching his head.

"He's right. But at least Bakugo actually wanted you. I'm just here because I told him I could get us out of trouble." Says Sero.
