Chapter 14 - 1 v 1s

After making it through the cavalry battle, I go eat lunch with some of my classmates. Todoroki and I joined Ochaco, Midoriya, Iida, and Sue, and the six of us eat together. Even with the obvious nervous tension in the air, we still had a good time, before joining up with the rest of the 16 people who moved on.

Before we were required to meet back at the stadium, Midnight hosted a few halftime games for the contestants who were out, while the rest of us rested and ate. I was standing in line for food with Ochaco, when Kaminari and Mineta came up to us.

"Hey, did you guys not hear?" Asks Mineta. 

"Hear what?" I asked.

"The girls in our class are supposed to do this cheerleading thing for the games that are about to happen. The rest of them are already ready, and Mr. Aizawa asked us to come find you two," responds Kaminari.

"I'm sorry, did you say cheerleading?" I ask.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure Mr Aizawa would've told us if we had to do that," adds Ochaco.

"Well he sent us to find you," starts Mineta. "You guys don't have to believe us, but don't get mad if you get in trouble later."

And that's how Ochaco and I got forced into wearing these revealing, tight, orange, did I say revealing? cheerleading outfits. Let's just say, that by the time we got out to the field, we were already met with a sulking Yaomomo, and an angry Jirou. 

"What's wrong you guys? Also, what are we supposed to be doing?" Asks Ochaco.

"Yeah, I'm very confused as to why we had to do this," I add.

"They tricked us," whispers Momo.

"Sorry what?" I ask.

"They tricked us," she repeats, except this time I can hear her.

"What do you mean they-... oh," I say, hanging my head.

And that's how our lunch break went over, and as embarrassing as it was, I have to let it go or I'm not going to perform well. As much as I try to forget it, I can't help but feel shame that I let those two idiots trick me. Oh well.

"And now, for the final round!" Yells Midnight. "The 16 remaining contestants will face off in a bracket style 1 v 1 battles." 

Hmm 1 v 1s. I thought this over a bit with Ochaco, but there's no telling who'll be up against. I guess only time will tell. 

"Now please turn your attention up to the screen, and we'll draw for spots!"

"Um, excuse me?" Someone says.

Midnight turns her attention to whoever spoke.

"I- I would like to drop out. I can't even remember what happened that round, and I don't want that to be my way in. I want to earn it myself, not like this."

Hold up. Did he say drop out? I whip my head around, and see that it was in fact Ojiro who had said that.

"Woah man, are you sure?" Asks Kirishima.

"Yeah, getting this far is tough, but it's your decision," adds Kaminari. 

"Actually," another voice peeps. "I'd like to drop out as well. For the same reasons."

"Well okay then. It seems we have two open spots. I'll have to go to the fifth place team to find some new joiners." Says Midnight.

"I think you should look at Tetsutetsu's team. We were frozen in ice most of the time, and besides, they really earned it," says Kendo, the redhead from class 1-B.
