I woke up an hour earlier than I usually would on a school day, as it's my first day and I want to make a good first impression. I can feel excitement flow through me, the same excitement I felt the day I opened my UA letter and found out I had been accepted into UA.
Flashback:
"Hey Y/N, I think this letter is for you," my brother yells at me from downstairs.
I rush down, hoping for it to be from a certain place, and it was. I grab it off the kitchen counter and rush back upstairs into the safety of my room. I open the letter, and in it I find a metal disk about the size of a coaster. I press a button I find on the side, and a projection presents itself.
"Young Y/L/N," it was All might, the number one hero.
"I assume you've been waiting to hear this news ever since your entrance exam, and I am excited to be the one to be presenting it to you. As of a few weeks ago, I have been accepted as a new teacher at UA high, and I'm sure you-"
"Get on with it All Might, this isn't supposed to be about you," I hear someone say behind the camera. However I'm too nervous to laugh.
"Ah right, my bad. Anyway lets look at the scores!" He says, as a new screen pops up behind him.
"In the entrance exam you managed to score 34 points from destroying robots alone. However, these weren't the only points being given out. The staff of UA watch the exam, and hand out rescue points to the competitors who fight for more than just themselves," he says, that smile never leaving his face.
"Because you helped out other competitors fight robots during the fight, and because you, along with one another, didn't back down from the final boss, and instead worked together to take down the robot, the staff of UA has decided to award you with 40 rescue points!"
My mouth drops to the ground. 40 rescue points!?!? Just for fighting one robot?! I can't believe it but I will certainly take it.
"But the real question is, is this enough to get you accepted?" I'm shaking from my nerves.
"The answer is... yes! In total you scored 74 points, placing you at second place in the entrance exam, tied with another competitor! Congratulation Y/L/N. We look forward to seeing you in a week!"
End of flashback
I get ready in my uniform that had been sent to me last week, a blue jacket on top of a beige shirt with a red tie and a blue skirt. I put on my simplest pair of white athletic shoes, and some long white socks that reach just below my knees. I decide to leave my Y/H/L (straight, curly) hair down for today, and make myself some waffles for breakfast. Since I have extra time from waking up so early, I scroll through social media for a bit until it's time to leave.
Thankfully I live pretty close to UA, and my walk only takes about 10 minutes. When I arrive, I check in at the front desk, and make my way to my classroom, class 1-A. As I arrive, I take a second to calm myself down before pushing open the door to reveal a half full classroom, with an argument going down on the far side.
"Did your old school shove a stick up your ass, or were you born with it?" A blond, spiky haired boy asks the same guy I sat next to in the entrance exam presentation.
If I'm basing the year only on the first thing I heard in this class, I assume it will be one heck of a ride. I walk in and take the fourth seat from the front next to the wall, just in front of a boy with half white, half red hair. I proceed to sit down and keep to myself, until a familiar face walks in with a green haired boy.
"Ochaco!" I say as she walks towards me.
"Y/N! I didn't know you were in my class. That's great that we both passed the entrance exam!" She responds.
"Yes it is! You should sit next to me!"
"Great I will! This is Izuku Midoriya by the way," she says, pointing to the green haired boy standing next to her.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Y/N."
"It's nice to meet you too, mind if I sit in front of you?"
"Of course not, go ahead," I say.
We continue to talk about the entrance exam as others start to fill the room. I get my first good look at the people I'm spending my 10th grade year with. However, I am soon interrupted when a man-sized caterpillar enters the room.
"Hello class, my name is Mr. Aizawa." He says.
Hold up, this guy is supposed to be our teacher?
"Get dressed in your UA fitness suits, and meet me outside," he says, and without another word, we leave to do as he says.
On my way to the locker rooms, I bump into another familiar face.
"Hey, Y/L/N right? Long time no see," he says.
"Kirishima!" I say. "You can call me Y/N though."
"Nice to see you again Y/N. I was hoping you'd make it here!"
"You too! Pretty cool we ended up in the same class." I say.
"Yeah it is. I'm assuming you placed pretty high in the entrance exam, no surprise there," he says.
"I tied for second with someone else actually."
"Really! No way! I tied for second with someone else to! Guess that was you huh?"
"I guess it was, I'm not surprised you placed so high though, you kicked ass out there," I say.
"Thanks," he says. "Can't wait to see what that caterpillar for a teacher's got in store for us. See you out there!" He turns the corner into the boys dressing room.
I keep walking until I find the girls room, and I meet most of the girls in there. We get dressed and go outside like Mr. Aizawa asked, where we find the guys already waiting.
After going over what we're doing out here, and finding out that I could possibly be expelled with the next couple hours, Aizawa asks the spiky haired boy from before to throw a softball, as he was the one who placed first in the entrance exam.
"So he'll be my biggest competition," I think to myself. "Good to know."
The boy, who I now know is named Bakugo, steps up into a small white circle.
"What was your softball throw score in middle school?" Mr Aizawa asks him.
"67 meters I think," he responds.
"And that was without your quirk?"
Bakugo nods his head.
"Great. This time try using your quirk to your advantage, anything goes as long as you stay in the circle. Hurry up, we don't have all day.
With that, Bakugo takes a few steps back before hurtling the ball out of sight with an explosion from his hand.
"Die!!" He yells as I roll my eyes.
"705.2 meters," Mr Aizawa says, holding up a device.
"705 meters!"
"That's insane!"
"I want to try now!"
The entire class is shaking with excitement, including myself. I can't wait to give it a go.
"All 21 of you will be participating in 8 different challenges, in which you will receive a score for each one. You will then be ranked against your peers, and last place goes home," Our teacher explains.
And with that the challenges begin, and I couldn't be more pumped up.
