Chapter 15 - The Battles Continue

After watching Momo and Tokoyami's battle, I know who my next opponent is. As I walk back to the stands where my class awaits, I try to think of a strategy for Tokoyami's dark shadow. He seems to be a more strategic player, but he certainly has strength on his side as well. One thing's for sure, I can't let my guard down like Momo did. I have to pay attention to the boundaries or I'll be out in seconds.

"Hey Y/N! That was a great fight! You didn't even need to use your quirk!" Kaminari says as I go to take my seat.

"Hey thanks! Um..." I start. "Your fight was, uh, fun to watch?"

"You don't need to tell me, I know it sucked. But it doesn't much matter, I'll just win next year," says Kaminari.

"Oh shut it dunce face," starts Bakugo. "You got your ass kicked."

I hit him across his chest to try to tell him to shut up, but then again, it's Bakugo.

"Aw why you gotta be so mean Bakugo," pouts Kaminari.

"Hey is Kirishima's battle up next?" I ask, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, shittyhair is fighting that guy from 1-B," Bakugo responds.

"Hmmm. Well that should be interesting."

Just as I say that, Present Mic starts to introduce the contestants, and the fight begins. Kirishima and Tetsutetsu both have similar quirks, so the winner will simply be who can outlast the other.

"And what's this?! Both our fighters are KO'd!" Yells Present Mic.

"Uh," I sweatdrop. "Well that was... interesting."

"Whatever. Later losers, my turns next," says Bakugo.

Just then I remember that it's Ochaco's turn to fight. I decide to go find her before the battle starts. 

"I'll be right back guys," I say.

"Great! Tell Ochaco I say good luck!" Says Mina, somehow knowing where I was going.

I rush down some stairs and run down the hallway to the waiting rooms. Once I get there, I see Ochaco talking to Iida and Midoriya as she heads out.

"Hey Ochaco!"  I say, and she turns around to face me. "Kick his ass!"

The girl that used to be shaking in her shoes suddenly changes. A determined look crosses her face as she says,

"Oh I will."

I head back up to watch the fight, running to make sure I don't miss any of it. As I turn the corner, I crash into something hard, and land on my butt.

"Sorry Y/N, I didn't see you there." Someone says, and I look up.

"Oh don't worry Todoroki, it's my fault. I was in a bit of a rush and wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I say.

He reaches his hand out and I take it, and he helps me up.

"What were you rushing for anyways," he asks.

"Oh Ochaco's fight is about to start, and I don't want to miss it," I respond.

"Ok, well I'll let you leave then," he says. "By the way, congrats on your win. You were great."

"Thanks," I smile. "But just so you know, if I end up fighting you you're so going down."

"We'll see," he says, and I get a small smile from him.

I turn to go, before he grabs my hand.

"Hey uh, do you think I could actually come watch with you?"
