Chapter 6 - Lunch Time Shinanigans

I walked into class Monday morning with no desire to learn whatsoever. After that hero and villain exercise I was totally exhausted, and thankful that we had two days off due to it being the weekend. And although my muscles aren't as sore anymore, Mondays are really just a pain in the ass.

"Ok class, today we will be doing something that will play a huge role in your future," says Mr. Aizawa just as I take my seat.

"You have got to be kidding me," I thought. Clearly everyone else had a similar idea. None of us were up for a huge task at the moment. It could be a surprise exam, or another activity like before. I try my best to stay calm on the outside. But on the inside, I'm panicking. We had no time to prepare for this.

"You will need to choose a class rep. I don't care how, just don't bother me."

And with that Mr Aizawa curls up in his yellow sleeping bag and flops on the floor. We all let out a collective sigh of relief, before the class goes wild.

"Pick me!"

"No, I'd be a way better class rep!"

"Are you extras serious! If you want to succeed choose me!"

"Silence everyone1" Yells Iida. "The most logical way to do this is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our class rep."

"I think it's pretty obvious you want us to vote for you," I say with a smirk, crushing his ego. 

After looking around the class to see who would be the best rep, I decide to write down Yaomomo's name. She placed first in the apprehension tests and seems really smart. I write her name down and place my slip into the box at the front of the classroom.

Time Skip

I now watch as Midoriya and Yaomomo present their speech about not letting our class down and blah blah blah. They both got 3 votes, and although I won't admit it, I'm disappointed I only got one. However that disappointment vanishes when I see Iida's down face. He received 0 votes, much to his dismay.

After Midoriya and Yaomomo finish, we are excused to lunch. These past few days I've been sitting with Iida, Ochaco, Midoriya, and Sue. However, I noticed Todoroki's been sitting alone, so I invite him to come sit with us today. Although silence consumes our table, as everyone is too busy stuffing their mouths, it's a comfortable silence. That is until an alarm goes off.

"Please evacuate the school, we are under attack, please eva..." A speaker yells.

In the rush to get out, I get separated from Ochaco, Midoriya, and Iida, and am left to fend for myself along side Todoroki and Sue. We try our best to stick together, but it's hard with all the commotion. On top of that, I left my lunch back in the cafeteria, much to my growling stomach's dismay.

"Why is everyone so panicky, it's just the media outside," says Sue, as she pulls us towards the window to prevent us from getting swept away.

"Yeah, everyone needs to calm down," I say.

"I agree. We should do something to stop this commotion," adds Todoroki.

However, just as we're about to advise a plan, Iida comes flying, yes flying, above us.

"What the-" I hear Kaminari say.

Iida takes his place on the wall just above the exit sign, and proceeds to yell at everyone that it's just the media that broke in, and that we all need to calm down. He seems to have gotten everyone's attention, as they all stop their panicking. 

After awhile, we are brought back to our classes to spend the rest of lunch in our classrooms. We all sit peacefully as we finish our lunches, before someone clears their throat. I turn my attention to Midoriya, who's standing up, clearly having something to say.

"Um... I just wanna say that I, uh, am resigning from class rep."

A few murmurs are heard throughout the class.

"I think Iida should take my place," he continues. At the mention of his name, Iida head perks up. "He took action to calm a situation when nobody else did. I think he would be a better fit for our class rep."

"Yeah, now that you mention it, he did get everyone's attention pretty quickly," says Kirishima.

"Yeah, he kinda looked like the guy on the exit sign to," adds Kaminari.

Iida seems stunned at this new turn of events, but I can't help but agree with the other 2.

"So I guess it's official. We got a new class rep!" I say.

The class cheers in agreement, before Mr. aizawa comes in for our next class.

"Today was a bit chaotic, don't you think," Todoroki says from behind me. I laugh.

"Sure was. I bet we could've handled it too if we'd been faster," I say with a wink.

I get a small smile back from Todoroki. Although it wasn't what I had expected, today wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be.
