Fifteen

"Just take it easy and don't stress yourself too much," the doctor advised as I finally got discharged from the hospital.

"Yeah, I heard you the first five times," I sassily snapped. Reid squeezed my hand signaling me to be nice. Our eyes met and I smiled. "Sorry," I apologized to the doctor. The doctor quickly smiled, waved goodbye and walked off.

"I wanna leave," I whined. Reid chuckled and smirked.

"Then, let's go."

I followed him out of the hospital. The bright sun shined in my eyes but the bitter cold bit at the skin that was revealed and uncovered. A shiver ran through me causing me to chatter my teeth.

"Cold, darling?" Reid asked. My stomach did the fluttery thing.

"Just a tad," I laughed.

He took his black pea coat off of his lean body and placed it on my shoulders.

"Thanks, Re- bay- babe?" I tried to use a cute pet name but couldn't do it properly. He laughed. God, what a beautiful sound. "Shut up! I'm not good at the cute, pet name thing."

"It's fine, it's just that was quite amusing."

"Your face is quite amusing," I teased.

"Oh, really?"

I sized up to him. "Fight me, bro." I repeatedly bumped his chest with mine as he laughed at my not-so-tough act. "Come on. You afraid? You should be," I kept going.

He then grabbed both my wrists and gently pushed me against the black SUV he drove here and pinned my wrists above my head.

"I'd much rather kiss you," he whispered. My cheeks most likely flushed bright red.

"O-oh?" I awkwardly questioned. He smirked.

His light brown eyes looked deep into my blue eyes. I could feel his love towards me. It radiates from him, I could feel it.

His tongue flicked out and wet his lips then he leaned down and kissed me. First it was slow and soft but it eventually grew more intense.

"Whoa, lover boy, didn't know you were into PDA!?"

We broke apart, both slightly out of breath. Reid turned around and we both recognized Morgan right away.

"Uh, I'll start the car," Reid quickly spoke.

He disappeared into the car. I looked towards Morgan and politely smiled.

"I'm gonna um, I'll follow him," I stuttered.

I opened the door and saw Reid there just staring out the window.

I laughed. "You okay?"

He slowly turned his head and shook it. He, in an attempt to be smooth, pushed his phone into his pocket and smiled.

"The IQ of 187 and you still can't lie." I pushed his hand away and took his phone out of his pants pocket. I unlocked it and gasped at the picture on the screen.

There I laid, in a puddle of my blood, half dead, and completely naked. Bile rose to the back of my throat making me gag.

"It's okay, Jade," he quickly said. I shook my head and dryly laughed.

"No, it's not going to be okay! Zane is going to haunt me for the rest of my life!" I screamed. My hands balled info fists and crashed it the drivers wheel. The horn honked but I repeatedly hit it.

Reid's arms wrapped around me securely. I stopped flailing about and just continue crying which I had no idea I was doing.

"I'm going fucking insane," I quietly muttered.

"We can get through this, Jade. I am not going to give up on you; On us!"

I pushed myself away from him and climbed over to the passenger's side.

"Okay," I sarcastically said as I tested my head against the window.

Without a word, Reid started the car and waited for Morgan to get in. Once we were all situated, we drove off without uttering a word to each other.

Something wasdefinitely off about today, and I was not ready to find out what it was.
