Start Over

Chapter 18

"Hey, Nino where's Alya?" Marinette asked as she sat to find her friend's seat empty.

"For once your early dudette," Nino chuckled, "What happened your alarm work?"

Marinette thought back to the morning and recall the Kwamis and how they felt like having the idea to wake her up with their singing, "Yup, I got a new one."

"Well it's great to see you back before the bell," Nino chuckled as he turns to see Adrien wearing a new outfit, "Wow man, what happen to the black."

Adrien was no longer wearing the black outfit that he has been wearing since the world discovered his father's secret.  He was wearing a light green sweater with khaki pants. Adrien smiled towards Nino, "Yeah, it didn't feel like it me." He then looks up at Marinette smiling at him which made him content, "Take a look at my girlfriend."

"Wait, what?" Nino says as looked at Adrien looking over his shoulder. Nio turned to see he was looking at her, "Uh, who?" Nino asked not trying to assume and blurt something that might cause a panic.

 Adrien took a seat next to Marinette as he took her, "Marinette of course. She's the only one I got."

Marinette giggled nervously blushing in embarrassment as she held his hand, "Adrien..."

"You get more and more beautiful each day. I really have to watch out for other guys." Adrien did a pointing gesture towards Nino, "That includes Nino."

"Thanks...You know you're not so bad yourself, haha." Marinette giggles, "Green really suits you."

"Thanks," Adrien smiled, "After what happened last night, I realize my father's actions are not mine."

"Uh, uh what's happening?" Their conversation was interrupted by Alya who just arrived in the classroom.

"Hey, Alya sorry I took your seat," Adrien apologize.

"No, what is happening here..." Alya then looked at how Adrien's hand was placed on Marinette, "Wait! What?"

"No way! You!" Chloe yelled as she stomped up the steps to where Adrien and Marinette were sitting, "How dare you think you can date Adrikins?!"

"Uh," Marinette was going to start but Chloe put up a menacing pointing finger, "If you think you'll last with him, think again missy. I know Adrien well enough to know your not his type."

"Chloe!" Adrien wanted to stop Chloe from insulting Marinette but got up to face her, "Chloe tells me, aren't you tired? You must feel so lonely spending your time hurting others. You could live normally, yet you relentlessly play the role of mean girl. Your little threats don't impress me."

"It's utterly impossible! He can't possibly be attracted to you."

"Chloe, stop!" Adrien got up and close by Marinette, facing her, "Me and Marinette and are together. You're important to me but as a friend."

"As friends...no is utterly unacceptable," Chloe wanted to argue.

"Chloe just takes a hint," Alya interjected.

"Grrhhh," Chloe growled as she went down to her seat next to Sabrina then glared back at Adrien.

Marinette looked back at Adrien who had a sad expression, "I knew she liked me but I should have told her before today."

"At least now our secret is dead and buried," Marinette tried to laugh it off.

"It was a secret?"Adrien asked.

"No, but her reaction was," she replied making Adrien smile.

"Be nice," Adrien chuckled as he intertwines his hand into hers, "She can't do anything about it."
