Chapter 9

"Oh, Tikki! I'm totally going to be late to class again!" Marinette said worriedly.

"Well, you were up all night, trying to find Hawkkmoth after his identity was revealed" Tikki suggested settling into Marinette's purse with her cookie.

Marinette bit her lip as it wasn't the whole truth. She recalled what happened last night when Adrien kissed her as Ladybug and she kissed him back.

"I... uh, I have to go." Ladybug says as she stepped away from his embrace.

"I understand," Adrien bit his lip, "I shouldn't have done that."

"I know. But I understand you needed to release your... emotions that weren't hate and anger," Ladybug tried to explain to excuse that kiss.

"I don't want to fall under an Akuma control m'l... Ladybug," Adrien said to try to excuse his behavior.

"Of course," Ladybug nodded.

Marinette shakes her head as all she wants to do is forget about last night. However, it was going to be impossible as all over the city is buzzing about the news of Hawkmoth's true identity being exposed.

"Marinette?" She heard her name called. She turns to see it was Luka on his bike.

"Luka?" Marinette asked him in shock as to why he was at her home so early.

"Hey, I dropped off Juleka and I couldn't find you at the school. Alya said you may be running late," Luka chuckled as he pulled out a second helmet.

Marinette giggled as she took it, "My hero."

Luka winked at her as he helped her on his bike, "That's what boyfriends are for."

"Boyfriend?" Tiki asked in shock as she settled in the purse.

"You said something Marinette?" Luka asked he started to ride his bike.

"Uh, nothing just that your the sweetest boyfriend," Marinette says to cover Tikki's comment. Luka smirks as she calls her that as they made their way to the school. When they arrive at the school the bell just rang. "Oh no, I'm late. Thanks, Luka," Marinette says quickly as she got off his bike and kissed his cheek.

"See you later Marinette," Luka says as he rode off to school.

Marinette rang inside to find the student body whispering to each other like when Lila first arrive at the school. It wasn't long before she realizes that they were talking about Adrien as she overheard Max and Kim talking.

"You think he's just like his dad?"Kim asked Max.

"It is a high probability. I heard the police actually arrested him in affiliation," Max responded.

Marinette was shocked to hear that her friends were turning on Adrien just because of the news. She understood wh the rest of the city would but to her classmates who knew him turning against him shocked her. "Adrien is not a villain," she interjected into their conversation as she entered with them in the classroom.

"Uh, Marinette did you not see the news? Hawkmoth is his father," Kim states.

"And as the saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree," Max states.
