"We are about to defend our school... From death eaters.. And a Lord.. That's basically obsessed with killing people." Adeline hugged Pansy. "I hope nothing happens to us."

"I'm sure we'll both be fine." Pansy wrapped her arms around Adeline. "We'll be fine, we'll survive the battle.. Even though we're basically not on the same side."

"You should defend Hogwarts. It's where you grew up. You shouldn't be on the bad side just because of our parents."

"I-"

"I'm not on the bad side, am I?" Adeline told her. "And you're much more inclined in making your own way in life."

"I know.. I just don't want our parents being disappointed in me."

"Let's swear.. That if one of us doesn't survive, then we must make our dreams come true. You know? How I really want to be an Auror, and you wanna be a healer? We must do it."

Pansy nodded. She stuck her pinkie finger out and wrapped it around Adeline's. They shook their pinkies and smiled.

"Now go, we can't loose any time."

"Come on- Blaise, Goyle let's go."

Adeline frowned and turned. "Oh my- Draco!" Adeline gasped.

"Cubby- Oh.. Please don't fight... I want you to be safe."

"I'm fighting. Also, don't be a hypocrite."

"A hypocrite?- No, Addy.. Don't, please. I want to live the cottage life. Please stay safe, and I will."

"Draco. No, I need to fight to save Hogwarts. I grew up here. This is how I met you! And to know that the school has been destroyed, would break my heart."

Draco nodded. "I s'pose you're right. But please try and stay safe Cubby."

Adeline hugged him. "As long as you stay safe."

They parted ways. In perfect honesty, Adeline was scared. What if something was to happen to Draco? What if they couldn't survive?
'I hate dark wizards..' Adeline thought. 'I'm being an Auror and that's final. I'll survive this battle, and everything will be well! Draco and I will be happy. He won't need to be a death eater. I'll make sure he's no longer ashamed of the ink-black mark on his left forearm. I'm sure there's a spell to get rid of it?'

Adeline stopped her thoughts, which were interrupted by a loud explosion behind her, her heart dropped.

"Oh- Harry! Hermione! Ron!" Adeline grinned. "Do you need any help?"

Hermione coughed. "Uh, no thanks Addy."

"We're in a rush." Harry pulled Ron and Hermione off.

"Alright.. Bye-"

Adeline rushed out. There was a lot of spells being cast out at people.

It's confusing, last year, most things were okay. Over the course of a year, things got terrible.

The spells were like lightning bolts.. Shooting out of people's wands.

Dead bodies were everywhere, which to be honest was kind of disgusting.. However, sad.

"AVADA KEDAVRA."

"CRUCIO!"

People were dying every minute. The grounds of Hogwarts were slowly crumbling down.

"Ginny! Are you alright? You haven't been hit by any curses, have you?"

"No, no.. I'm alright, Are you?"

"Yes, I'm fine.. I'm worried about everyone."

"Of course you are. Everyone's lives are in danger."

"Hopefully one of us will make it out alive.." Adeline laughed, wiping her tears from her eyes.

Ginny's eyes were glassy. "I'm worried about Harry, mostly. He's the one... Voldemort is after.. So there's not really a chance he'll come out alive."

Ginny burst out crying. Adeline hugged her.

"There's some chance he will, don't worry. If anyone knows stuff about the dark arts, then it's Harry. Trust me."

Ginny sniffed, and nodded. "You're right. I shouldn't worry about him."

"You're allowed to worry. It's completely normal, but sometime there's nothing really there to worry about." Adeline spoke. "And I'm not saying this battle's not worrying, because it is. But I know that once Harry defeats him, we'll all be okay."

Ginny smiled. "Yes, and once he's an Auror, he'll be happy."

"I want to be an Auror, aswell. It's always appealed to me. But I can see Harry being a good Auror.. After all this."

"I know. You'll be a good Auror, and so will he."

"Addy! There you are." Neville ran up to her.

"Hiya, Nev! You alright."

"You seem too happy. You know, for everything going on. I'm not complaining!"

Adeline laughed. "I know, I'm just glad to see you. Are you alright? You haven't been hit by any curses?"

"No. Last time I was. It was the Carrow's when I refused to perform the Cruciatus curse on first years."

"You were brave, Neville."

Neville smiled. "Thanks. So were you."

"I hope you get out alive. I'm sure you will."

"I hope I do, too. I think you'll come out alive aswell. Then you can be an Auror."

"What do you want to do, Nev? It's all been asking me what I want to be.. Which is pretty obvious by now."

"Dunno." Neville replied. "I've thought about being a professor here at Hogwarts. I love it."

"That's great! What would you teach?"

"Herbology. It's my best subject! So.. Do you think I could do it."

"Of course you can, professor Longbottom."

They laughed.

"I'll see you, Neville. I hope."

Neville smiled softly. "You too."

"FRED-"

Fred Weasley was lying on the floor. George's eyes were streaming with tears.

"George.." Adeline knelt beside him. She rested her hand on his shoulder.

"Fred- He's gone.. He's gone."

"I know."

"I can't do the joke shop, not without him." George was holding back his tears. "I sound stupid. That's my brother, though. My best friend."

"George. Trust me, he'd want you to continue with the joke shop."

"He's gone, Adeline. Gone. He's not in the world anymore.."

"He's in your heart. You can pick out a star which is him, that star will be him."

George's eyes flooded. He allowed his tears out. "I'll pick the brightest star."

George's reaction made Adeline want to cry even more. "I'm so sorry, George."

"I- I don't know what to say. What about all the memories we had together?"

"You still remember them. You had loads, enough for a lifetime."

George nodded and sniffed. "Can you leave me for some time with Fred alone? I need to process it all."

Adeline nodded and left him. George had knelt over Fred's body, and was talking to him.
