Adeline was sat next to Harry in DADA.

"What are we learning next, DA." Adeline whispered.

"Petrificus Totalus, but it'll take some time to master completely. Two lessons?"

Adeline nodded and took some notes with her quill.

She looked over at Draco who was looking her way, and quickly turned away when she turned to him.

"Is it true you went to Hogsmeade with Malfoy?" Harry whispered.

"Yes, why?"

"No reason."

"QUIET! NO TALKING!" Umbridge shouted.

The class was nearly over.

There was a lot of whispering going on, a note was being passed around. "Pass this to Adeline!"

The note got to Adeline, it was a crumpled up bit of parchment.

Adeline uncrumpled it and straightened it out.

"What's going on?" Asked Umbridge, snatching the note out of Adeline's hand, her heart dropped.

Umbridge's mouth curled into a wicked smile.

Adeline dropped her face into her hands.

"Who passed this note all along the classroom?" Umbridge asks.

Everyone points at Draco.

Adeline looks at him, worried.

"See me after class, Mr. Malfoy."

Adeline gave him a nervous smile and turned away.

"Umbridge didn't give you a hard time, did she?" Adeline asked.

"No." Draco muttered. "She just told me not to pass notes around, she said next time if I did.. She would read it out to the class."

Adeline nodded. "What did the note say?"

"It was stupid, I shouldn't have been passing them."

Adeline frowned. "Umbridge just made you feel stupid, don't worry."

Draco shrugged.

"Meet at the black lake at six?" He asked.

"Sure."

Adeline pulled on a coat and a hat.

"Where are you going?" Hermione asked.

"Just to the black lake."

"Okay! Have fun.. Make sure you're back in time. I don't want any points taken off."

Adeline ran down to the lake.

"Hi!" Adeline smiled.

"Hello." Draco turns.

"Are you okay?" Adeline frowns. "Is something on your mind?"

"No, I'm fine, come sit." Draco taps a spot on the grass next to him.

Adeline sits down next to him. "Something's on your mind. Why aren't you telling me?"

Draco shrugged. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine, you?"

"Fine. How are you finding the OWL practise?"

"Okay.."

They sat silent for a bit.

"Adeline."

"What?" She smiled.

Draco turned to her, and grabbed her hand.

"I really like you. A lot..."

Adeline bit her lip. She liked him too, truth to be told. She didn't want to say.

"Really?" Adeline turns to him.

"Really."

"I like you too." She forces out.

"Can we give us a go? It'll make me happy."

Adeline thinks for a second.

"I've never had a relationship."

"It won't change anything around people, I don't think. I just really like you."

"I'd like that, then."

"I'd like that too."

They sat awkwardly for a bit.

"I really like you, too. Draco."

Draco's eyes lit up, he smiled.

"So you're actually dating Malfoy?" Hermione scoffed that evening.

"Yes, he asked me at the black lake."

"Wow, are you sure about him?" Hermione braids her hair. "I mean, what about Pansy, I thought she liked him."

"She did, last year. She's going out with Theo anyway now."

Hermione nodded "As long as you're happy. Just make sure that you don't tell him about the DA. He's in the Inquisitorial Squad."

"Is he?" Adeline frowned. "I won't let anything slip then."

"He's probably in it to get more recognition from the teachers.." Hermione told her.

Adeline nodded. "Night."

The next day, everyone was talking about Adeline and Draco being together.

"Adeline, is it true you're dating Draco?"
"Are you really together?"

"I heard he's liked her for two years."

Adeline was fed up with being the talk of the school, but it wouldn't go on for much longer.

"Hi, Draco."

"Oh, hi!" He smiled.

"Have people been questioning you on our relationship as well?"

"Yeah, a bit annoying.. It's okay though." Draco tucked Adeline's hair behind her ear.

"Haven't you got your ears pierced?" He asks.

"I do, I'm just not wearing earrings right now."

Draco nodded.

"Why?" Adeline frowned.

"No reason."

"Uh, so! What book are you reading at the moment?" Draco asked, changing the subject.

"Nothing, really.. Just the odd book here and there, what about you?"

"I'm reading some of my mother's old books." Draco explained. "She found them for me at Christmas time."

"That's nice." Adeline smiled. "Want to get lunch?"

"Sure."
