Sometimes you pretend that you weren't oblivious to the world, to everyone for that matter. It was less painful that way and you can just pretend that everything was okay.
It wasn't okay.
You weren't okay.
You shakily exhale, trying to calm your beating heart while you finish sparring with Xingqiu. He didn't seem to break a sweat and you grew envious of that, always drenched in sweat by the end of each match.
"Are you okay Y/N? Today you have been slow." Xingqiu points out, sipping on his tea that one of his servants prepared. He was right that you were very slow today, the one thought you wanted to push away keeps on crawling back and it frustrates you to no end. You didn't want anyone to listen to the burden you bear so you merely just give a tired smile to Xingqiu.
"I haven't been getting enough sleep lately that's all." It was the truth that you were unable to sleep that well for the past couple of days. You just didn't tell him the reason, but seeing your tired face Xingqiu didn't press on. He just purses his lips and shrugs his shoulders while grabbing one of his books on the table.
"Please take proper care of yourself, my liege. Let's just rest for the rest of the day." Hearing that made you smile and you thank Xingqiu before leaving his place, waving goodbye to his brother and leaving with a small smile. It was only when you were alone that you let it fall, the sadness creeping in again.
'I just don't want anyone to know' You bitterly thought while walking back to your place, a heavy feeling on your shoulders. When you passed by your boyfriend you couldn't find yourself to run up to him and give him a hug. Instead you ended up hiding away from his sight to go back home.
You didn't want to face him today because the sight of him might only break your heart even more. You knew that he was slowly falling out of love with you. His eyes tell everything that he could never say out loud. They were slowly fading from that excited light, his smile no longer reached up to them nor did he do a lot with you anymore. He was off on his own at times and you just sport a smile throughout it all.
You made it look like nothing was wrong, that your heart wasn't in small pieces because of him. It seemed better that way to not have anyone question you two anyways. It wasn't any of their business to probe into personal and private affairs after all.
"I'm home." You weakly announce and remove your shoes, putting on your house slippers before closing your door. You walk further into your home, not missing the empty feeling you feel. This house once held such happy memories from cuddling on the couch all day to cooking together in the kitchen.
