"The only thing stopping me from engulfing the entire world into darkness is you, HERO!!!!" A black mass of evil shouted as it swung it's sword towards a figure cloaked in bright light.

"I'll never lose to some corrupt god!" The light cloaked figure shouted back.

As the two's swords crossed massive energy waves erupted causing the dimensional space around them to begin collapsing.

One month later.

"And so, today, the hero that has save not just our kingdom, but the entire world would like to make an announcement!" A king dressed in formal attire shouted as the entire kingdom crowded the castle waiting for the important announcement from the hero.

After this, the king retreated a few steps and let the hero go on with what he wanted to say.

"People of Levinia, ever since I was brought to this world by the goddess Aria, I have painstakingly worked to make this world a brighter and safer place, and now, I have done it. So, what I would like to announce is that...I am retiring from being the hero!" He shouted with such enthusiasm.

After a few minutes of silence, the crowd, and even the people in the royal castle all looked at him in shock and went "Eh!?"

(This wasn't the reaction I intended!) The hero, Elvin, thought.

One year later.

"Alright, all paperwork and everything has been taken care of. Are you sure you want to do this, though?" The king asked for the hundredth time.

"It's not like I don't understand everyone's feelings, but I just feel it's best if I, the hero, were to retire. I don't want you guys to keep relying on me, soon you'll be entirely dependent on me." Elvin replied.

(Besides, I already found out about your secret plans to force me into taking over the throne, which I don't want to do.) He thought to himself as he looked at the king's dejected face.

"Cheer up, you're the king, you can't be sulking now, you hear me?" Elvin said as he heartily patted the king on the back.

The king couldn't help but sigh.

"It's already been so long since you first came to this world, back when my father ruled. I had no idea things would ever reach this point, however." The king muttered to himself.

"Yeah. I had no idea what was happening either at the time." Elvin remarked thinking back on the day he got transported to this magical world of gods and monsters.

"But, as someone who's experienced all there is to in this world, I can safely say, it's time to simply relax, and take things slow."

(Just like I always wanted, even in my old world.) He thought.

As the day dragged on, a farewell party was held to celebrate the hero's heroic deeds and to let everyone say their goodbyes to the hero.

One week later.

"Ahh, feel that cool fresh air!" The hero, Elvin, spoke to himself as he stood in the middle of the woods.

"This place is known as the forest of despair, and even gods fear it, huh? Perfect place for an old man like me to spend the rest of my time relaxing." He said without a hint of sarcasm.

As he was beginning to get to work, he suddenly realized something.

"How exactly do I build a house?" He pondered.

"Um, I think there was a design for a log cabin where part of the logs are carved in a way to let them stack on each other?" He muttered.

"Might as well give it a try." He said as he summoned his holy sword and within three swings a clearing was made.

"Let's see, that's about a hundred logs, give or take. Should be more than enough to make a simple log cabin." He said, as he got to work.

Within an hour a log cabin with a single room, was made.

"Ahh, that was productive, but now my backs all sore. I might as well go fishing for some food for the night, then I can make a campfire and cook it. After that comes...Ah, right, bedding." He spoke nonchalantly as he headed towards the sound of water nearby.

"Ohhh! How lucky I am to have my house near the ocean! That means I can try my luck and see all sorts of delicacies from the sea!" He shouted to himself in amusement.

After a few minutes of getting set up and situated, he began to fish in the ocean while relaxing on the beach.

"Ahh, this makes me feel like an old grandpa. Actually, I might be getting to that age here soon. I'll be 40 in a few years from now!"

With that, he continued to spend his days peacefully.

Until a week later.

An unusual enemy appeared!
