Elvin's POV:
"No!" The old man shouted after over hearing my conversation with Ariel.
"I refuse to allow you to stay with this man if he's simply going to be a playboy and bring lots of girls around him!"
"It's not your decision father! I'm the one who wants her to stay, as she has no place to go, and you're insulting Elvin a bit too much, don't you think?" Ariel shouted back to her father.
"But, still...!" Her father demanded.
"No! It's my and Elvin's decision, not yours! You don't live here!" Ariel fought back.
"Then maybe I'll move in too!" Ariel's father shouted.
"Nope, I won't allow you!" Ariel said.
The old man had a look of shock and betrayal like he was just shot by his own lover plastered on his face.
Then he fell to his knees while muttering something along the lines of.
"I can't believe my own daughter doesn't love me anymore."
Seriously, his reactions are simply too extreme.
I now pity Ariel having to grow up knowing such a man was her father.
"What's that look for?" She asked me.
"No, nothing." I replied, giving a wry smile.
"Anyway, if Sylvia doesn't have anywhere to go and is ok with staying here, then It's fine by me." I said.
"Really?" Sylvia gave me a look of reluctance.
"Really. Now, one problem we'll have to face today." I said as the two girls looked at me confused.
"The log cabin is too small to fit three people, so I was thinking of doing some renovations to the house and allow it to be a multi-room building." The girls realized what I meant and got right to work on talking about various things they wanted for their new rooms.
When I originally built the log cabin, I assumed it would just be me living here, with the occasional guest here and there.
But, now that Ariel and Sylvia will be living with me, then the house needs to be improved to accommodate future possibilities.
As such, we got right to work on remodeling the house.
First thing I did, was express my gratitude and regret towards the trees I was about to turn into logs.
Then, when that was done, I set out to build the foundation.
After that was done, I planned out all the floors and possible rooms and it ended up something like this.
We'll have the first floor be mostly the living room with a kitchen, then we'll install a bathroom with a toilet underneath the staircase.
After that, will be the second floor where everyone's rooms will be.
I get the first room on the left, Ariel the room next to me, and Sylvia gets the first room on the right.
The bathroom upstairs will be in the middle between my and Ariel's room and it'll have both a toilet and a bath as well.
The rest of the rooms will be filler spaces if we ever need to use them.
Then we have the attic which I'll use to clear my inventory out and leave all my junk up there instead.
As for the basement floor, that one will be a work in progress, as I don't have the tools I need to make it.
That reminds me, it's been a while, but I should probably visit the capital of the human kingdom soon to get some supplies.
I can even take Ariel and Sylvia there while I'm at it.
Once the house was built, it was finally time to begin decorating all the rooms.
Ariel's room had a refreshing ocean sea breeze kind of smell to it while also having various ocean related items placed neatly around the room.
On her desk was a small little coral to help remind her of her home.
Then we headed to Sylvia's room and it was...
A pigsty.
Grass was strewn all over and it looked like the forest grew into it rather than it simply looking nature like.
After that we were preparing to go downstairs when Ariel happened to mention.
"Wait, we didn't see Elvin's room yet."
I clicked my tongue.
"What was that for?" Sylvia asked, curiously.
"N-Nothing." I replied.
I didn't want them to see my room.
But, they did.
And it went how I expected it to.
"Wow, your room is so...so bland! There's basically only the bare minimum here!" Ariel shouted in surprise.
Each word hurt like an arrow piercing my heart, and I know, because I've been literally pierced in the heart with an arrow before.
After that we went downstairs only to find a pitiful figure outside.
"Just ignore him, he'll leave eventually." Ariel said.
Not wanting the poor old man to catch a cold, I took out a spare blanket I knitted in my spare time and gave it to him.
Then I went back inside and forgot about him until the next day.
It was nice having my own room once again, made it feel more like home to me.
With the house remodeling done, I think I'll work on my next big project.
I wonder what it will be, though?
