At Liberty and Order (Levi x reader)

Chapter 2: Capabilities

Its 6am in the morning and Levi went straight to his office to finalize the transfer of the Beaumont runt in the survey corps. The idea didn't really make sense, but Erwin wanted the girl to be one of them. Knowing Erwin, he always had a good eye for people with potential. Although sometimes Levi couldn't understand what his goals are, he decided to trust him. The captain was looking through the files that Hanji compiled and was surprised to see that her mother came from the underground capital.

How did someone from the underground city meet someone like Peter Beaumont, Levi thought. It was also written by Hanji that she had a rough relationship with her stepmother, though it appears that she was close to her stepbrother Eugene.

Eugene Beaumont changed his surname when he entered the military. He was from the same batch as Mike Zacharias as trainees and it was said that he met an accident that ended his life 5 years ago.

"Levi." Erwin called as he entered the office along with Keith Shadis, the head instructor of the Military training corps who was also responsible for the evaluation of the candidates who want to be soldiers.

His opinion were always considered by Erwin since he was the former Commander and the fact that he came with him means that he did not take the news well of someone of high profile joining the military.

"Peter's daughter requested to change her name. It seems like she wanted to keep it a secret." Erwin approached Levi on his table.

Well, that wasn't a fucking surprise, Levi thought. 

"And what would the changes be?"

"Cass Belova"

He agreed and changed the brat's name in the file that Hanji gave him. When the changes were made, Levi gave the file to Erwin but Keith received it instead. When the previous commander read the file, his eyes widened, and was almost ready to piss his pants, based on Levi's perspective.

"She's from the underground capital?!?" The former commander was shocked.

"For only 7 years. Her father took her in after her mother's death. Her ODM skills were taught by the former squad leader, Eugene Beaumont." Erwin replied, expecting his response. 

"And how certain are you that this girl wouldn't rebel against you?"

"I sent her under Levi's squad."

"Makes sense. A former underground thug can subdue the girl's resistance when needed." The bastard looked at Levi and seemed like he was satisfied with Erwin's explanation.

Levi went to the training grounds after having a discussion with Erwin and Keith to evaluate the girl who was placed under his squad. He wanted to see the skills of the woman who Erwin deemed as someone with great potential as it made him curious if you were worth the 5-hour trip with Hanji and the constant encouragement of Erwin about you which made Levi annoyed.
