"So its because of the people that our family has gotten to be this powerful?"

"Of course, without the people's support and foundation we would cease to exist, and the same goes for them." Eugene Beaumont flipped through the pages of the book that he was currently reading. It wasn't that much, just one of the usual military publications on the library of the manor.

You were used to spending time with him in the library, the garden, and if you're lucky, outside the mansion where the both of you would stroll at the city where you found the night lights and the cloudy sky attractive. Eugene treated you like how he should; his little sister whom he cared deeply for.

When you were around 9, you would always ask him why Elliot Beaumont, your half brother who was a year younger didn't bother spending time with you. "He's busy with his studies. Don't worry about that." was what Eugene would always say but you knew the truth, you just wanted to know if he would lie or not. Elliot despised you ever since you got inside their lives. A nuisance, an underground rat, and a fake was what he would always describe you but what irked him the most was the fact that you, an illegitimate daughter of the head of the Beaumont household, had the notable radiant emerald hues that the clan always possessed, but all he got is an almost pale green color.

"Although other circumstances like the clan's blood has kept us in peace." Eugene interrupted your thoughts and you looked at him with curious eyes.

"Our blood? What do you mean by that, brother?"

"Soon, you'll know very soon."

"But why not now?"

"It's still too early....and dangerous."

"Even the tiny details, please?" He chuckled at your attempt to make him talk. He placed his hand on top of your head and patted it like you were still a kid. Although you were now 12, you still liked it, but you hated to admit it.

"Remember the noble families I told you about?"

"Mhmm. What about them?"

"We're quite similar to them but we came from a different place." He eyed your expression and seeing the confused look plastered all over your face, he smiled.

"What place?"

"I'll tell you when you're ready." But that time never came.

The commander didn't exactly tell you that reinforcements on the underground were on standby just in case something happened. Its not that he didn't trust you and Levi but he had an inkling that something unexpected might happen, and he was right. When he was informed of your condition which was relayed by his subordinate, he was relieved that he had you and Levi followed by Mike and some of his men. You were rushed by Levi to the nearest hospital he could find on the inner walls since the underground was just below the walls of Sina. Currently, the both of you were still inside the hospital with the documents on Levi's possession since he refused to leave someone of his squad, which was you just to give Erwin what he wanted immediately.

Erwin knew better than to send Peter Beaumont's daughter back in the underground but he knew himself that aside from recovering your mother's documents, going back could trigger some memories that you forgot or chose to forget. The situation was no different to his past operations. It was a gamble and you happened to be a part of his conquest for the truth.
