Chapter 19: What goes around, comes around

Recap from last chapter:

Belova brought Mike inside the walls to be treated and met with Levi and Erwin. She was then assigned with Levi to help with Pastor Nick's interrogation.

Note that Belova's "ability" works simply by physical contact. Example is when she holds someone's hand, there is a huge possibility (depending on her mental state) that she could have a glimpse of the person's specific memory as long as she knows what she's looking for (Though sometimes she only sees random memories just like how she encountered Eren Krueger on Eren's attack titan). Cons of her ability includes seeing memories that are traumatizing to that person as well as fatigue when used repeatedly. Her ability is quite similar to Eren's attack titan though she can't have a glimpse of the future "yet".

"So you still refuse to talk?" The Captain was quite surprised by Pastor Nick's determination. Religion can really mess up with one's morals and he was willing to risk being unable to move just so he could protect his own peace.

You heard another scream as you decided to put a stop on your morning coffee break.

"Captain Levi? I think the Pastor has had too much of your...session." You stared at his disgusting glove that was full of the man's blood.

"Then don't think." Levi adjusted the glove and continued on what he was doing.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, you thought and tried your best to not roll your eyes.

"What I wanted to say is that I can help."

He raised an eyebrow waiting for your explanation. "Captain, I can just ask him and we're done. You don't have to enjoy this too much." You sighed.

"Belova, I'm well aware of what you can do but I'm also informed of how novice your capabilities are." Levi emphasized the last line as you were getting too bold with your superior. You ignored what he said and approached the Pastor who was refusing to talk.

You placed your palm on his hand which was missing a few nails and emphasized the pressure on it, enough to make him flinch.

"What happened to the walls?"

"You are a demon. A s-spawn of the demon. Your family will be responsible for all the shambles. Your clan is a disgrace." He continuously murmured that you were a demon as soon as you made contact with him.

You ignored his remarks but couldn't help but be scared of what he was saying. It's either gibberish or he was making you realize something.

You concentrated on searching for answers despite the Pastor forcibly ushering his hand away from you. When Levi noticed it, he held the man through his iron grip.

Then you saw what you were looking for.

Pastor Nick was doing his normal Sunday routine. Read the God's words as soon as he woke up, took a bath, had his meals, conversed with his companions, then went inside the church's hidden library.
