Chapter 16

Leah's POV

Okay needless to say after our little flirt fest we decided maybe sleeping in the same bed wasn't the best idea. Actually it was more of Bridgette refusing to look me in the eye after I dealt the final blow with an unintentionally lewd pickup line which ended up with me insisting that even if we weren't gonna share a bed, she should still take the bed but my point still stands. Anyways I guess that's how I ended up sleeping on an inflatable mattress with an extra blanket that was barely long enough to cover my body while Bridgette was fast asleep in my bed. Or so I thought.

Scrolling my tumblr boredly, the silence of my household that only came at the dead of night was disrupted by a faint rustling sound. I looked up expectantly, the sound of movement triggering my lion's senses including my eyes, which lit up after reflecting the faint moonlight through my blinds.

"Leah, you awake?" Bridgette murmurs sleepily. My head turns to the noise to see her using her arm to lift her upper body up.

"Have been for a while now." I would've thought her eyes would be reflecting as much light as mine by now, if not more. After all, she is a house cat but somehow they barely reflected any light. Maybe it's just 'cause my lion's been triggered by the noise.

"Oh..." Her eyes meet mine for a second before she jumps and her eyes widen, seemingly realizes something. In that same second her eyes began glowing the same way mine were. Weird. "I was just wondering if there's ever been a tiger Luna in this pride. I mean a Luna is just the mother or the other set of genes of the Alpha cub, right?" I nod in response.

"My paternal grandfather is actually a liger. My dad's dad's mom was a tiger so I'm part tiger myself. Why?"

"I was just wondering since I'm a mu-mixed breed cat." That didn't really sound like a stutter but I knew better than to pry with Bridgette. Plus, I didn't want her to answer this late as I felt like that would be taking advantage of her drowsiness.

"My family will welcome you no matter what."

I groan as I'm awoken by the telltale clatter of a plate being placed on wood. A familiar laugh pierces the air and when I open my eyes, I see Bridgette talking to Laith about some unknown subject.

"Gooooooood morning Leah!" Bridgette says in an exceptionally bubbly tone. So she's a morning person. Good to know.

"Don't you da-" I squint as Laith opens the blinds and light floods my room. I growl at the two.

"Awwww is Leah all angeyyy" Laith coos. This fuck really thinks just because she's an inch taller than me she can do that? I'm older than her too! How dare she?

"We brought you some breakfast. Your chef made waffles." Bridgette grinned as she placed the paper plate by my mattress. "Laith told me you had a chef in the morning and since your dad's such a good cook I was so confused but if your dad's as much of an early bird as you are it makes a lot more sense." I get up and massage my temples. It's way too early for this.

"Please leave." I state, motioning towards the door.

"But we just came in!" Laith winks.

"Give me a minute to get fucking dressed then!" I growl. The two giggle before finally leaving the room. I sigh and flop back down. I guess I should get dressed but another minute won't hurt, right? Actually never mind if I do that I'll sleep for another three hours, best get up.

After I do all my washing up, I walk over to my closet and fling out whatever I can find. I end up with a simple gray sweater and sweatpants and a pair of cat socks.

"Hello people who oh so graciously decided to wake me up at-" I look at the clock and my eyes widen. "It's 2pm? Why didn't anyone get me up earlier!?" Laith, Nico and Bridgette share a look of mischief as Leya comes downstairs in the same fashion I did, barely awake and on the verge of tearing someone to shreds on the spot.

"Nico I swear to the gods I will kill you." Leya grumbles. They trio giggle again and that's when I notice something. Laith is usually a lot more quiet and not one to do something to annoy someone and Nico is mischievous on a level far more extreme than this. While one opened up to my mate the other calmed down a bit and while I was too tired to realize it earlier, I smile at my mate's affect on my family.

"I should do this more often!" I manage to hear Bridgette whisper to one of the two which is followed by giggles.

Warmth floods my body at the thought that, maybe, Bridgette might be here to stay.

Leya coughs exaggeratedly as she tries to mask an impish "Whipped" between her fake coughing spree. I glare at my sister before flicking the little shit off.

Fuck you! I mouth threateningly. Leya just looks smug. This fucker really thinks I won't hit her cause she's my sister, doesn't she.

It was about mid day when Bridgette approached me. Something in the air changed and I knew something was up.

"Hey Leah, I kind of have something to tell you." Bridgette gulps. She began picking at some skin by her palm and I was now certain something was disturbing her. She usually only did that when she was stressed. I nod encouragingly as she looks around the room, clearly stalling.

"I uh, there's a couple of things I need to tell you. I haven't been completely honest about a lot of things. Um there's quite a few things I wanna tell you a-and I think you should- you need to know." Now I'm intrigued. I knew she had secrets the day I met her and the reason she already was telling me them was probably the mating pull telling her to trust me but I didn't expect this so fast, it had only been like, a couple of months since she came to the school.

"I-uh- I'm not exactly a cat per say? I mean technically I am but really like- not really? Um." I didn't wanna rush her but I have a feeling she's rambling. I guess her eyes flitting around the room and looking everywhere but at me would imply that.

"Yes?" I ask.

"I-uh." She takes a deep breath, finally meeting my eyes. "I'm a-" Clearing her throat, she averts her eyes again and mumbles something I barely catch.

"I'm a mutt."

SHE DROPPED THE BOMB!!!!!!!! THE TRUTH IS OUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I WASN'T EVEN GONNA DO IT THIS CHAPTER BUT UGHIUHIUJKNUIHIUKNI I GUESS HERE WE ARE AHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
