Leah's on him in a second. I would've died should I not have put my arm in front of my throat. I'm bleeding heavily and Leah is fighting with a larger, stronger and older lion. I would never have doubted us otherwise but it doesn't seem like we're going to end up victorious in this battle.
My heart is pounding and I need to help Leah, but with my arm like this, I don't think I can. I freeze at the thought of losing Leah. No. I can't think like this. I need to shift, but I can't do much and if I shift I'll bleed to death. I need to stop the blood. My eyes wander to the lions fighting above me, Leah barely doing anything with her uncle's mane in the way. I also see a pile of clothing from when the lions shifted. I push myself forward to grab the button up shirt from the closer pile and wrap it tightly around my wrist with a stray pen. The makeshift tourniquet will let me shift, at the very least. I calm myself down as much as I can and shift into my bear. The tourniquet rips once I shift but the bleeding is manageable as a bear and I have greater things at hand.
My bear roars, drawing Leah's uncle's attention letting Leah slash at his shoulder. As he turns back to Leah at the attack my bear charges forward and tackles into his side. We have no way of communicating, we have no plan, we just know what to do.
My bear gets up on her hind legs to intimidate Leah's uncle and draw his attention but he's learnt our strategy, instead of turning to me he continues to attack her. I panic and charge forward, accidently knocking Leah to the side. My wound's opened again, shit. My bear panics and I shift into my wolf, then my cat. I've lost control completely at this point and Leah's pinned to the ground. Suddenly, the door slams open.
"What the fuck is going on here?" Roars a voice, not one that I've heard before. My cat moves her head to the new sound. Leah's father. The power of the sound causes everyone to pause. Leah's the first to shift back before collapsing to the floor. Lenina, who was behind him, rushes forward to Leah.
"He-" Leah gulps. "He attacked her." She whispers. My cat gently pads up to her, limping. She meows before headbutting the side of Leah's face. Leah's father is furious but keeps his cool.
"Jackson, shift." He demands. The heavily bleeding lion shifts back into the scruffy man from before. "You have attacked the future Alpha of the pride and her mate. You have harmed my child and forsaken our coalition." He glares at his brother. The smaller man lets out a humourless laugh.
"I will never accept them as my leaders."
"Then you have no place in our home. Leave."
"Gladly." He spits. The bleeding man stands up, albeit wobbling. He makes his way out the door, struggling to walk. I smile at his obvious pain. Leah's father takes three powerful steps towards her before slinging her body over his shoulder. Lenina picks my cat up following close behind him. I think the blood loss has gotten to me because the next thing I know, everything is dark.

"Bridgette!" I hear 'Guel call out. I try to open my eyes but am forced to squint from the bright light. I try to talk but my throat is dry and I can barely force out any sound.
"'G-" I cough. "'Guel." I rasp, smiling. He lets out a breath of relief.
"Do you know what happened?" I try to shake my head but I can barely make the strength to. He furrows his brows in concern.
"Can you try and remember? Leah's not awake yet and her parents only came in after you were attacked. They need someone's account." My eyes widen.
"Le- Leah!" I cough. "Leah, we were- we were with her uncle and he-" Memories come back to me like someone's opened a floodgate. "Where's Leah?"
"You can't move. Not yet." He says, placing a hand on my shoulder. Another person walks in the room but I can't move my head to see them. I shift my eyes over before moving my strength to my neck to move it.
"Mr. Leventis?" Leah's father walks into the room. He stands at the bedside of what I can now assume to be a hospital bed.
"Good. You're awake." He nods towards my brother in greeting. "I require an account from you to testify against Mr. Jackson Leventis."
"No you may not have one, she's still recovering." My brother cuts in. Leah's father ignores him and stares directly at me, as if still expecting an answer.
"I- I do not think I can give a full account at the moment. As my brother said, I am still recovering. I will give you one when I've gained a bit more strength." He nods before glancing towards me, and then my brother.
"Contact me when you're able to." He rips a small piece of paper from one of his pockets and scribbles his number in messy handwriting before walking out of the room.
"I don't like him." My brother says. I let out a light laugh.
"That's just because he ignored you." I rasp. His eyes widen suddenly and pulls out a bottle of water.
"Wait, here." He opens the bottle and I find the strength to grab it and chug.
"Thanks."
"Anyways, of course I'm mad he ignored me. I am your legal guardian, and you need rest." He mutters. A comfortable silence fills the air. A few moments later I move my head towards him.
"How long have I been out?" I ask.
"Not that long. Just a week. Didn't feel like a week, though." He whispers that last part.
"Then why am I so weak? Doesn't it take a couple of months for that to happen?" He chuckles.
"That's probably because of the drugs you're loaded up on."
"Sir, visiting hours are over." A nurse says to him from the door.
"Wait- What time is it?" I ask. Miguel pulls out his phone.
"5:30pm." I nod.
"Cya tomorrow?" Miguel smiles.
"You know it."
Now that 'Guel's gone, I have nothing to do but stare at the ceiling of the room. I lift my arm and stare at the various stitches littering my skin. Staring at the thin black strings, I can't help but think that I'll never be the same.
I've never written a battle scene before help me
