Naoko kept Stain's mask gripped in a tight fist as she spoke with the chief of police.

After the fight, her classmates, and the hero they had helped, were brought to the hospital. Once again, however, Naoko held herself up tall and strong, hiding the fact that her head was spinning and her entire back throbbed with even the slightest of movements.

As such, the chief of police stood with her in front of the alley where the battle had gone down.

"Certainly, Miss Todoroki, you're aware of the laws currently in place regarding the usage of quirks without proper licensing, woof..." Spoke Chief Tsuragamae, scratching at his chin.

"I'm aware, sir," Naoko nodded slowly, looking down at the ground.

Tsuragamae continued, "Certain circumstances allow exceptions. As a hero student attending an internship, receiving permission from the hero you work under is one way to bypass those rules... But it has been disclosed with the heroes working with your classmates that none of them had been giving permission, so I'd like to ask... if you were?"

"Mind if I play hero for a bit, Endeavor?" She asked sarcastically, not waiting for an answer before she catapulted herself into the chaos.

"I... I wasn't-" Naoko paused, a familiar stinging heat invading her senses. She flinched slightly at the feeling, recognizing the aura of light that approached from behind her. The young girl stepped to her left to move away as Endeavor came up to stand next to her.

Tsuragamae sighed at the girl's answer, turning to face Endeavor, "Keep an eye on this one, Endeavor-san. You and I discussed already how to avoid this getting out to the public, so let her know. I'd suggest heading back to your agency while things get cleaned up down here."

Endeavor nodded without a word and walked away, Naoko straining to keep up with him thanks to the pain all over her body.

The man didn't speak to her the rest of the day, having different interns relay messages to her as she was put back to work helping with reports in the agency. And though him avoiding her felt like a gift from the heavens, her mind was still full of his voice.

As she settled down for the night in her temporary room, Naoko's thoughts were plagued with the man's words from the night of the sports festival.

"Bottom line, your quirk isn't strong enough for this. You aren't strong enough for this. Don't make me prove it to you."

Can I really make a difference? Will becoming a hero really allow me to make those changes?

Naoko glanced at the mask that she had tied around her wrist. The girl stared at it for a few moments before her eyes widened and she shook her head to clear her thoughts.
