Chapter 57: pChristmas Eve Jealousy

-Alice pov-
I have been watching over everyone today. They all have their own little groups. I am all by my lonesome I guess. As long as everyone is happy that's all that matters.

"You the loner too?" I turn and see a girl that looks like Debbie "I am Cassandra aunt! My name is Dee!"

"Alice" I smile and hold my hand out "Alice Carmichael"

"Nice to meet you Alice" She shakes my hand with a smile "Got a nice grip on you there"

"Taught never to do anything else" She chuckles and we turn toward the kids playing "They are so full of life"

I see Dee nod out of the corner of my eye "Yeah they are" She sighs and let's go of my hand "I have devoted so much time to watching over Cass...I guess it's my fault for not having someone"

"My ex husband was the worst" I sigh remembering him "He used to never really be there for us"

"You were a one woman show?" I nod and she scoffs "Men sometimes"

"I came back to separate the family" I can feel her eyes on me "I wanted to make Judy see this wasn't right....coming here only made me realize that I was the one in the wrong"

I don't hear a respond for a bit "You don't have to be alone anymore" I turn and look into her eyes "I don't have anyone with me so..maybe we can be the duo in this whole house filled with groups! What do you think?"

"I think that is the best idea I have ever heard" I smile as she smiles brightly "We can be alone together now"

She laughs and I feel happiness spread more. This is a feeling I wanna keep and haven't had in forever. It's a feeling that scares me too. But I am willing to let it go and see what happens.

I deserve some happiness right?

-Judy pov-
I don't like how my mom and Dee are being by themselves. It is definitely going to be something to watch now. I want her to be happy but not like that.

"Stop glaring" I turn my glare to Maribel "Best stop that glaring at me"

"I don't want my mom to end up with Dee" I sigh and look at the girls playing "She doesn't need a girlfriend"

"Someone is jealous" I ignore Madison as she sits down "Oh you really are!"

"Is everything ok?" Dee walks over with my mom looking worried "Judy?"

I stand up angry "I AM FINE!" I push past Dee and walk away "I don't need deserters pretending to care now!"

-Alice pov-
"She didn't mean it" I sigh and look at the ground "Shes just jealous and let her anger get the better of her"

"Jealous?" I look at Madison confused "Jealous of what? I haven't done anything to be jealous of!"

"You didn't" Dee points to herself "I did in her eyes though"

"I am confused!" I look between everyone "What is happening?"

"She is jealous of Dee" I give my confused look to Shelby "You and Dee were close over there and she just got you back"

I let what she said sink in "That is crazy!" I follow after where my daughter went "I'm gonna talk to this girl!"

"Let me" I stop and turn to see Dee walking to me "I think it'll be better that I at least start"

"I'll be watching" I cross my arms still a bit angry "If I see her do something I don't like...well I'll do something!"

"Of course you will" Dee gives me a small smile "I believe in you my little hero"

"Stop it" I hide my blush and point toward where Judy went "Now go before I do!"

"I am" I hear her start walking away "Just don't get distracted watching!"

I chuckle and hear the back door go "I best go watch" I turn my head to see everyone smirking at me "What?"

"Little hero huh?" Debbie gets up and steps toward me "You gonna be my sisters little hero?"

"It was a friend thing" Everyone looks at each other then back at me still smirking "What?"

"Oh sweetie" When did Maribel gets beside me and her arm around my shoulders? "We have so many things to talk to you about!"

I am starting to think this was the wrong choice.

-Judy pov-
I'm sitting on the swing when I feel it move. I sigh and look to see who has joined me. I look away when I see it is Dee. Just who I did not want to see.

"I'm not gonna steal your mom away fully" I quickly look back at her with a eyebrow raised "I will admit I think she is a beautiful woman...I have found a attraction to her for sure"

"I don't wanna hear this" I go to stand up but she grabs my wrist "What?"

"I won't be with her if it means losing you too" I feel my anger leave as I look at her confused and surprised "You have become a great part of my life along with your wives and kids...you are a important part of Cassandras life! If I lose you I could lose everything I've gotten..I don't have much but you all"

"Would you ever cheat?" She looks at me confused "Would you ever cheat, steal, abuse her in anyway, or do anything I would have to kill you for?"

She gives a smile as tears fall "Never" Hope fills her tears eyes "Is this you saying it's ok?"

"Don't hurt her" I give her a smile and she launches into me with a hug "I expect to still be able to get close to her"

"I would never take her away from being your mom" I wrap my arms around Dee finally hugging back "I'll make sure she is the happiest woman alive"

"Good" We pull apart and I look at the back porch "Good luck getting your girl"

"Thank you" She takes a deep breath and gives a shy smile "Do I look good?"

"Perfect" I walk away and to the back porch "Don't break her ok?"

-Alice pov-
Judy walks inside and now it's just us. I slowly make my way down to her. I can easily back inside and run away. But my legs won't let me turn around.

I have no control over this anymore. Those mesmerizing eyes I looked into earlier are pulling me in. I stop standing super close to her. I can feel her breath hit my face.

"They talk to you?" I nod and her smile shrinks "You don't have to like me back or go on a date"

"Kiss me" Her eyes go wide and I cup her face with my hands "Kiss me and make me not wanna reject you! Make this the most memorable event I've ever been apart of! Make them have to put it in the record books for biggest fireworks! Kiss me stupid! Make me for~"

I am cut off by the softness lips I have ever felt touching mine. I pull her closer so the kiss can deepen. I don't want this to ever end! It's like the forth of July in my head right now.

We kiss for a few more minutes till we have to breath. When we pull apart there is a line of saliva that connects us. Our eyes open and meet with a spark. I haven't felt this alive in years.

"So" Dee smiles "Can I get that date?"

"You can have all of me after that" She laughs and I smile "You have a beautiful laugh"

"You are beautiful in general" She pulls me toward her again "Sorry about this"

"About what?" I get my answer when a snowball hits my back "HOLY SHIT! THAT WAS COLD!"

"Snowball fight!" I turn to see Judy pointing toward Shelby "She did it"

"Snitches get stitches" Shelby throws a snowball at Judy "I'm gonna get you!"

Soon everyone is laughing and having fun. I watch from the swing set and soon feel a hand in line. I turn and look at Dee with a smile. I lean down to kiss her but get hit by a snowball again.

"That's it" I bend down and make a snowball "It's on!"

Maybe I can truly have happiness in my life. All I have to do is finally let go. This is what I want from now on. I want to be this happy and alive.

Coming to New York may have been the best thing I have ever done.
