Chapter 6

-Rachel pov-
I've been at the hospital every day. It's been a week since mom came in. We aren't sure if she's going to wake up honestly. I want her to but...I just don't know if she will.

There's so much we haven't done yet. She hasn't seen me on Broadway, she didn't walk me down the isle, she didn't get to be there to see me win a Tony and thank her, she hasn't seen Beth grow up, she hasn't seen Beth become a woman yet, she has seen that we need her.

"Mom i-I know you can hear me" I reach out and grab her closest hand "I love you so much and...we need you..everything feels broken without you...we all love you so much and..and we don't wanna lose you ok? So..so I don't know what's going on in that head of yours but...but you gotta wake up ok? Just please...wake up"

-Shelby pov-
It's weird being inside your head. When people said you're dead you see things. You see your life flash before your eyes. You see your greatest moments and your worst.

But all I've seen is the stupid light. There's a chair underneath it. I've circled it so many times now. I keep hearing them talk to me and I wanna wake up. But I just can't open my eyes.

"I'm crazy" I sigh and shake my head before looking at the chair "I'm gonna regret this"

I walk to the chair and sit down "About time" I look up and see Judy "You've only walked around it seventy plus times"

"What's going on?" Judy morphs into Emma "Who are you?"

"Your subconscious" Emma changes to Rachel "I'm whatever you think of"

"Am I dying?" Rachel nods before turning into mom "I..I don't wanna die"

"We know" Mom sits in a chair and turns into Maribel "Something is holding you back though...someone?"

"I have no clue what you mean" Maribel changes and I look away "Stop it"

"Why her? Didn't you want her?" I can't look back so I just nod "So why not look at me? Why not look at her?"

"Because I can't!" I sigh and shake my head "I...I can't help but feel...things!"

"What things?" I hear the voice get closer "Shelby you're losing time! We are losing time! You have to confront this! If not...if not we die"

"I feel like she's loved more than me especially by Beth and Rachel" I sigh as tears come to my eyes "I feel like...I feel like I can't amount her level..I feel like how Judy felt"

"Why?" I don't respond "You're making a break through! Do you want to see them all again?!"

"OF COURSE I DO!" I make the mistake of looking up "I love her...I just am so scared..so scared of losing everything"

"Why?" I feel her hands on mine "Why?"

"Because" I feel the tears fall more "Because Rachel goes to her more to be fed...they all do..I've come close to drying up...Fran and Emma are the two have kept me going...I feel unloved even though I do everything...I feel under appreciated..I feel unloved"

"So you need to tell them that" I look back up "I know they still love us"

A blinding light covers me and I hear a faint beeping sound.

-Madison pov-
I walk in with food when the heart machine picks up. She's waking up. I drop the food and run to the doctors station. SHELBYS WAKING UP!

"SHELBY CORCORAN IS WAKING UP!" James looks at me with a smile and runs back to the room with me "Has she moved Rach?"

"Slightly" Rachel holds up her phone "I called the others"
