this flashback chapter is
mainly going to be about Grisha
Jaeger's point of view, so buckle up.

"the fateful day that i, just a naive youth, was made to face the truth of this world."

"move it, you vermin." one of the people from outside the wall said. then, he shoved the kids out of the way with his briefcase. "you can't get away from these devil-bloods."

"damn Eldian's are crawling around. as they please now." the other one remarked.

"Grisha..." Faye said, looking like she was about to cry.

"it's alright, Faye." he said in reassurance. "we've heard worse before. look there!" he exclaimed quietly. Fay looked ahead. "it should be just past that hill."

they both went up that way and gasped at the sight. they were right. they were both amazed at the sight. what a sight to see... "it's so big!" Faye said.

Grisha looked to his little sister, fascinated by what she was seeing. to which, it made him smile.

"are you kids here to look at the airship too?" a man by the name Kruger asked them. they both gasped at the man.

both backed up as a result. "uh, yes sir!" Grisha worriedly said.

"you're from the Liberio Internment Zone?" he then asked the two. "let's see your exit permit." he then requested.

"uhh... our permit-" Grisha wondered. the two men got up, facing the two of them, Kruger fixing his hat in the process. "we don't have one..." Grisha realized, and now, the worst was gonna come.

"if you enter the city without permission, then you need to be punished." Kruger said.

"yes, sir..." Grisha said while Kruger walked over to the two. he was kneeling down so he could be eye level with the two.

"hard labor? or a quick beating?" Kruger asked.

"a beating, please." Grisha answered.

"brother!!" Faye said.

"ah.. 'cause you don't wanna trouble your parents, right?" Kruger wondered.

"that's right." Grisha said. "my sister didn't wanna come, but i dragged her with me! please allow me to take her punishment too!!"

"very well." Kruger said. then, Kruger started beating Grisha up, Faye couldn't stand the sight, so she looked away, tears filling her face. then, the other one that was with Kruger took Faye somewhere else. that was the last time Grisha would ever see Faye.
