854 (now; two days before
the Raid on Marley):

"Falco, could you do me a favor?" the Eldian soldier asked.

"sure." Falco responded. "what do you need?"

"i want to send a letter, but..." the Eldian soldier began. "... coming from the internment zone, it'll probably be checked, right?" he wondered.

"yeah, probably." Falco answered.

"if they see what i wrote, they'll know i shouldn't be here." the soldier said. he wasn't even supposed to be there in the first place. so having the people out of the internment zone check what he wrote down, which, if it would remain contents of the fact that he wasn't supposed to be there, it would lead him into a lot of trouble. "would you be willing to send it outside the internment zone?" he asked as he handed Falco the letter.

"sure thing." Falco said right away. "guess this is to your family?" he wondered as he took the letter from the soldier. oh, also, he got to learn the soldier's name, too. Mr. Kruger.

"yeah." Kruger answered. "just letting them know that i'm here and that i'm alright."

the next day (one day before
the Raid on Marley):

"nicely done, Falco." Kruger complimented in regards to what happened earlier that day. Falco had beat the aforementioned girl in a race and Kruger was more than happy to hear about it.

"it's thanks to what you said, Mr. Kruger!" Falco said with a smile on his face. "honestly, i doubt i'll catch up to Gabi, no matter how hard i push myself." yeah, Gabi was the girl's name. "but even so, i'm gonna keep moving forward." he said, determined.

"i see." Kruger said. "i would still say that i'm in your debt though." then, Kruger turned his head to the left to face Falco. "thank you for delivering those letters for me." he thanked. "you've been a big help."

"huh?" Falco was taken aback by his words, but it was great. "oh, sure." he said in response. then, he noticed a baseball glove sitting right next to Kruger. "that glove. did your family send it to you?" he wondered.

"they thought it would make hospital life less boring." Kruger clarified. then, he placed his hand on it. "it's hard to do much in this shape, but..." then, he looked up. "... i need to move forward, too." he said. "after the festival, i'm going back to my hometown."

"glad to hear it." Falco said. then, he turned over to see a doctor. "a doctor's coming." he said. it was an older man with normal doctor attire, but he had a red armband on, meaning that he was a family member of one of the Warriors. "well, i should head out." he said while running away.

"yeah." Kruger said while looking at him run away. the doctor inched closer to Kruger as he was still looking at Falco.

"would you mind if i sit next to you?" the doctor wondered.
