"our foe is the world." one of the soldiers said.

"that information should stay in this room." another one said. "if it became public knowledge, there'd be chaos."

"yes, i concur." another one said, agreeing with that soldier. "regrettably, we can't let this get out til we fully grasp the situation."

"shall we deceive the people once more?" Commander Pyxis asked. "that's what you're suggesting, right? that we keep our citizens complacent and blind, as the late King did? if we do that, then by what ideals did we oppose King Reiss? what right did we have to seize his crown?" the soldiers that spoke fell silent after that.

"then let's announce it." Queen Historia declared. everyone in the courtroom gasped. "it's only fair. this is information that the people once knew, before my predecessor stole it from them. as the people of the walls, all of us will share the same fate. which is why we must now unite as one and work together."

the monstrous Titans that have menaced us so, are in fact human. they're known as the Subjects Of Ymir, or Eldians, and we share a common ancestry. when our King erected these walls 100 years ago, he altered our memories using Titan powers, so as to make us think that beyond the walls, humanity had gone extinct.

in truth, there are countless people beyond the walls. but when it comes to us Subjects Of Ymir, they believe that we are a race of devils. in the near future, the enemy will invade our lands in order to obtain the resources beneath us. their plans began five years ago when they used the Colossal Titan to breach Shiganshina.

the whole article addressed most of the doubts and questions everyone in the walls had this entire time. it wasn't the truth everyone hoped for, but it's what they have. the people were a mixed bag. some just accept it, some laugh it off, some lash out at the military and insist that it's all a great conspiracy. things have become somewhat chaotic.

as for Elisa's ancestry, in The Early Life Of Grisha Jaeger, it has been stated that Christof Bachmann, or rather, Christof Ober was someone that was born in one of the main cities of Marley. not in the Liberio Internment Zone, but rather the actual cities of where Marley is located. he was forced to join the military at his young age and excelled in everything. so because of that, he was shipped over to Paradis in order to retrieve the wielder of the Founding Titan when he was 12 years old, and applied for the Cadet Corps to become a Garrison.

his time over there as an undercover top Garrison Regiment soldier made him realize a lot of things, and he wished to not hold the Founding Titan hostage. so that's where he met Evelyn. Christof was tried for his crimes against humanity, but they let him stay alive. and because of that, he served his time, and ended up taking Evelyn's last name, marrying her. and they ended up having Elisa. so yes. Elisa is Eldian, but she's also considered Marleyan because of her father.
