I cuddled against him as he pulled the heavy duvet over our bare bodies. The warmth he radiated made me feel so safe and cozy, I sighed into his chest as his arms curled around me, pulling me closer.

"You know how you said I'm your solace?" I whispered against his artistic skin.

"Yes, you are."

"Well, you're my safety." I mumbled sleepily.

His hold tightened around me and he kissed my damp hair again, his lips lingering.

"I want to promise that you'll always be safe with me, but I'm afraid I'll let you down, I live in a very dangerous world and now you're stuck here with me." He murmured quietly.

"You can't promise me that, love. Some things are completely out of our control. I know you will do everything in your power to keep me safe and that is why I feel the safest in your arms. That's all I need." I pulled back so I could look him in the eye. "I'm not stuck here. I want to be here. I will always want to be with you."

"Good, cause I'd have to kidnap you if you ever decided to leave me." He teased, lightening the mood.

"I think we're forever, my love." I smiled serenely and pressed my lips against his softly.

"I like the sound of forever." He hummed against my lips.

He pulled me up so my head was resting on the same pillow, facing him.

"And I like this version of you."

"What version?" His brows pulled together.

"The sweet, loving version." I grinned.

"I am not sweet." He frowned. "I'm as scary as it gets!"

"Not to me, not anymore. I used to be scared of you, you're intimidating as fuck, baby. But now that I got to know you, love you, I have no reason to fear you anymore. You're just a big, tattooed teddy bear to me now." I giggled, pinching his cheek for extra effect.

"You better keep this shit to yourself, I have a reputation to protect." He grumbled, pulling my thigh over his waist.

"Your reputation is safe with me, Tomcat." I teased.

"I am not convinced."

"Good, cause I was so not serious. I'm taking you down, Tommy Knox." I smirked at him only centimeters away. We were so close our noses were almost touching.

"I can't believe the only thing I'm scared of is a tiny woman..." He mused.

"Believe it, baby. I'm as scary as it gets!" I giggled, throwing his words right back at him. He actually laughed along with me this time.

"And that's why I love you. I don't think I remember the last time I truly laughed before you infiltrated my life."

"You love me cause I'm funny?" I smirked with a raised brow.

"I love you because you're like walking serenity, you've never judged me, despite the horrible man I am, you found something to love."

"You're not horrible, Tommy." I whispered, brushing a strand of damp hair out of his eyes.
