"Who the hell are you." Thompson hissed furiously, dragging me up by my long, dirty blonde hair.

"No one!" I exclaimed, gasping at the pain erupting from my skull as he tightened his hold.

"There's no point lying to me girl, I will find out who you are regardless." He snapped.

"I'm just a receptionist, I didn't mean to be here I was just working late and I noticed the light on and-"

He cut off my nervous rambling by throwing me at the wall and clutching my neck so hard I was gasping for air "So you hide in a closet and eavesdrop on confidential meetings?" he boomed in my face. I could feel the fury radiating off of him.

I couldn't respond, I couldn't even breathe anymore. My vision was going blurry and my survival instinct kicked in. I thrashed against the wall and pulled at his hands around my neck, but he didn't budge. So I did the only thing I could think of, my leg flew out and collided with his balls. His cried out and his grip loosened, momentarily distracted. This was my only chance at escape, so I didn't hesitate. I elbowed him in the stomach, hard. There was little muscle there to shield him from the impact so he doubled over just as I hoped. I shoved a chair between us and ran for the door, he stumbled after me.

"You can't run from me! There are cameras everywhere, I will catch you!" He yelled after me, but I was through the door and booking it down the hall back to reception. I heard his heavy footsteps pounding the floor not far behind me and I knew I couldn't stop for anyone or anything. I felt my pencil skirt rip up the seam as I ran, leaving a large slit going up my thigh.

I ran into the reception area and almost shrieked with joy as I saw the handle of my purse sticking up over the counter. I had taken it out of my drawer to check my phone before I went exploring. I reached over the counter and snatched it off my side of the desk and kept moving.

I desperately searched each room I passed for an exit sign and finally came across the emergency stairs. I threw the door open, which immediately triggered an alarm, but I couldn't stop. I could still hear him behind me, gaining speed as the pain I caused him subsided. I threw my small body down the stairs until I reached the parking garage. He wasn't as fast and I had a few extra seconds to make my escape. I sent a silent prayer out to my personal trainer for whipping my ass into such great shape, it's finally paying off.

Running on pure adrenaline, I found my car quickly and slid in. He was gaining on me and slammed into the passenger side window as I backed out of my parking spot. He slammed his fists against the window and yelled strings of curses at me as I shifted from reverse to drive.

"We will find you! There is nowhere you can hide!" his roar echoed throughout the empty garage as he chased my car while I sped away. How Cliche. I thought to myself.

I was able to pull out of the garage without stopping at the booth, thanks to the chip they gave me on my first day. As soon as I cleared the building I tossed the chip out the window along with my phone. Anything they could possibly use to track me quickly.

I drove as fast and as far as I could manage before the adrenaline began to fade and my legs started shaking. After 20 minutes of reckless driving and checking my rearview, I pulled into a gas station. I needed help and there was no one I could go to. This was bigger than anything I'd ever had to deal with. I had most likely just landed on a most wanted list at top priority. I had no idea how high Thompson's rank was, he could already have people out checking my apartment, calling my relatives, talking to my roommate. I had to go somewhere unexpected to figure out my next move.
