Tommy
"Your muscles are really big!" Keira squealed in joy as she squeezed my shoulders. "They're like really hard rocks...what's harder than rocks?"
I could see Blaze's shoulders shaking as he struggled to conceal his laughter. He twisted and shot me a hard glare that basically said 'shut her the fuck up before we all die'.
"Keira, you really gotta be quiet or we're going to get caught. We can talk about my muscles all you want once we get out of here, okay?" I smirked down at her, beyond happy to have my love alive and breathing in my arms.
"Okay, shhh." She held her index finger up to her lips and laid her head back on my shoulder, pretending to sleep quietly. She faked snoring and I couldn't hold back a light chuckle.
Whatever they had her on, it was strong. But at least she was happy and numb to the pain, that's all I cared about.
As quickly as losing her shattered me, holding her again pulled the pieces of my soul back together. I would never forget what happened last night, everything was going to change from here on out.
Keira would have 24/7 supervision, at least two trusted bodyguards when I couldn't be beside her and self defence training. I needed to have faith in her ability to protect herself if I failed her again.
I glanced down at her peaceful features, her fake sleeping turned to reality. She was breathing deeply against me, a small hand curled around my neck posessively.
I would regret that fight we had for the rest of my life. I almost lost her because I couldn't control my anger induced words, if I had stayed with her that night Alejandro would have never gotten to her.
It was after midnight and the halls were quiet. Blaze sedated the nurse on duty so we could get in and out undetected. We were almost to the elevators when another nurse rounded the corner of an opposite corridor.
We all froze and stared at each other for a few seconds before she slowly moved her hands into her pockets. Blaze whipped his gun out and aimed at her head.
"I don't want to hurt you, just put your hands up where I can see them and everything will be fine." He ordered as he approached her slowly. The nurse's hands were shaking as she pulled them out of her pockets.
As Blaze handled the nurse, I ran up to the elevator and slammed my finger against the button repeatedly, like it would make a difference. We had to get down to the parking garage where Thor and Hunter were waiting in the car. Dane and Viper were guarding the helicopter stashed on one of the skyscrapers I owned nearby.
At first, I was furious when I realized Thor had pulled Viper back in the chopper after I let go, but my mind cleared I saw a blessing in disguise. I needed a punching bag once we reached the safe house, and he was perfect for the job.
Blaze jogged over to us after sedating a second nurse. We stepped into the elevator and began descending.
"We are 2 minutes out." Blaze touched his ear piece, communicating with our men in the basement. "Thor? Come in."
We exchanged worried glances as the elevator stopped suddenly and an alarm permeated the small space.
"Fuck!" I exclaimed, shocking Keira out of her sound sleep. "The damn nurse triggered a fucking alarm before you sedated her. We need to get out of here fast."
I placed Keira on the floor gently, wrapping the blanket around her tightly. She was so drowsy, fighting to stay awake and lucid but failing.
Blaze and I pried at the doors of the elevator, struggling to pull them open. After a few minutes of pulsing muscles and a migraine inducing alarm we finally got it cracked enough to reveal we were halfway between two floors.
