Chapter 19

“Wait wait wait, so your telling me that Benny went and sent Luke out to get beat up?” Squints asked, looking over his big glasses and glaring at me.

“Yea yea, that doesn't sound like any thing that Ben would do. Like Luke’s his best friend, makes no sense.” Yea yea asked, in agreement with Squints.

The entire lot of us were here at squints house. Squints,Yea yea, Timmy, Tommy, Smalls, Ham, Kenny, and Bertram. And let me tell you, none of them seemed happy about this situation.

“That's absolutely what he did. He was pissed at Luke, so he decided he’d get some revenge on him. And now he's managed to piss me off too.” I said from my seat on the couch. At this point it was about 11:30, and I had explained the situation about 10 times. But no one understood why.

“Wait, I don't get it.” Smalls said, looking quite confused form this whole situation.

“Your killing me Smalls!” Ham yelled, getting up from his seat and standing in front of the room. “Basically what happened was that Benny was pissed the fuck off, and took it out on Luke.”

“Oohhhh I get it now. But why would Benny wouldn't do something like that?” Smalls asked, finally figuring out what had happened. God did it take him a long time to catch on. 

“I don’t know genius, that's what Julie was about to say before you interrupted!” Ham yelled back at him, taking a seat once again.

“From the way I see it boys, we don't even know Benny anymore. He's just changed so much,and not for the better. He's becoming the kind of person he promised he never would be.  And I don't like that one bit. If he's going to do this to my best friend, he should pay for it right?” I said, finally starting to take a stand against his actions.

“So your saying we drop Benny?” Timmy said, awestruck.

“We drop Benny?” said his ‘echo’ as I called him, Tommy.

“That's exactly what Im saying, we stop practicing with him, we stop hanging out with him, we just try and forget about him. For a little while.” I said, assuring the guys that this wouldn't be forever. “Just until he gets his act together and learns how to treat us.”

“I don't know Julie, this could ruin our entire season.” Kenny said looking quite concerned. He was right, without Benny we’d be losing our main player, the guys that helped us train. But that was a risk that I , and hopefully everyone else, was willing to take. 

“Well, we've gotta risk it boys. He hasn't been a good coach anyways. We don't need him. If we all put our strengths together and work really really hard, I'm sure it wont even feel like he's gone.”

“So, you actually think we can do this Julie?”  Bertram asked, speaking up for the first time since me and Luke had gotten here.

“No, I don't ‘think’ we can do this. I know we can do it.” I exclaimed. I looked around to see all the boys nodding in agreement with me. Thank God.

“Hey Julie, do you think I could talk to you in the hallway for a second?” Smalls asked, getting up form his seat.

“Okay?” I said meekly, getting up from the couch.

We made our way into the hallway, out of the boys hearing range before Smalls started to speak. “ Are you crazy Julie! This is like the worst decision you've ever made in your entire life! I get the fact that you and Luke have some fling or some shit going on, but have you ever thought that your little boyfriends lying to you! God J, I never thought you could be so stupid.” 

“Are you fucking kidding me Smalls! First of all, where the hell did you get the idea that me and Luke were in a relationship! You need to stop assuming things. Oh, and Benny has changed, don't tell me you don't see it! Remember the day he gave you that black eye, the one you blamed ‘walking into a door’ on. Yea, we all knew it was him Smalls. So either get your act together and be with all of us, or just leave.” I said, turning on my heel and walking back to the living room, leaving him standing there, awestruck.

“What was that?” Luke whispered in my ear after I had sat down on the couch.

“Ah, it was nothing. He's just scared about whats going to happen.” I mumbled. It was the truth though, he was scared. But he wasn't the only one. I bet all the other boys were too. But me, I think that I'm the most scared of all.
