Derek: "To be alive—is power." Emily Dickinson.

JJ woke up to Henry jumping on her. "Mama, wake up! It's time to play!"

"Oh buddy," JJ said and rolled over as her son sprinkled kisses all around her face. Just when she was about to shut her eyes again, the scent of something cooking in the kitchen woke her back up. "Let's go see what's happening. Okay?"

JJ grabbed onto Henry as the two walked towards the kitchen. The sound of laughter filled the air. Emily was at the stove, trying her best to flip over a pancake she was making. Penelope was chuckling at her struggle.

"What's going on here?" JJ asked and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

"Em and I decided to make you breakfast," Penelope said and gestured to the bacon, eggs, and currently cooking pancakes.

"Okay! Chocolate chip pancakes for the mini Jareau," Emily said and set down a plate on the counter. She wiped her hands on the apron and picked up Henry. The boy was giggling as Emily placed him on the chair. She looked over at JJ and handed her a plate. "And a plate for momma bear Jareau."

"Mmm, thank you," JJ said and sat down with Henry and Penelope. Emily finished up a stack for both her and Penelope before the four happily ate breakfast together, choosing to ignore why they were there in the first place.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Shoot," JJ mumbled and grabbed her phone from the counter. They had a case. It was local and a huge one. JJ tapped her phone against her mouth. The two women knew. "Hey, baby. You're going to have to spend the day with Kate today. Okay? Mommy's gotta go to work."

Henry, as sad as he was to see his mother go, agreed. The three women raced to get ready and head off. Henry waving goodbye to his mother and two aunties as they left.

The three of them touched down at the bank that was in the process of a robbery. All the women got down and walked into the FBI's mobile room.

"Fill us in," Emily said as the three of them were placing on their FBI vests. Andrew walked up to Emily and kissed her quickly before turning his attention back to the monitors in front of him.

"Three bank robbers all wearing face cards. They have about fifteen hostages, and they're losing it because one of them was shot," Aaron said and clenched his jaw as he saw the brief interaction between the two lovers.

"Who shot him?" JJ asked and placed in her earpiece.

"Me," Will said from behind her. The three women turned. The way Emily was looking at him right now, he knew she wanted to kill him. "I was on morning patrol with Amelia. She pulled up by the side door. One of them shot her in the head. So I shot back and hit the Jack in the leg."

"It's odd that the woman isn't worried about us seeing her face. She took off her mask not too long after Will shot the Jack," Spencer said and furrowed his eyebrows. JJ and Will just stood there looking at each other. Flashes of last night ringing in both of their minds.
