ROB JETTEN

There's something about the new guy that's attractive to me.

I can't quite point out what, though.

"Psst," I heard from my right. Jesse.

"Hm?" I asked, not looking at him. I continued to take notes, even though I didn't need them — I could easily ask them about the summary. I guess I didn't know what do to when I'm listening instead of talking. I realized in middle school I have to do something so I won't fall asleep when I'm not the one presenting. My father wanted me to see a school counsellor, a fancy word for the therapist.

I didn't want to, so when a teacher left me alone in front of her door, I ran. Surprisingly, they didn't push it the next time.

"What to ditch?"

"What? This is literally your first day, how could you even think that? This is a serious job."

"C'mon, pretty. You can ask them later about it. We won't miss long. Besides, we won't vote on anything as far as I know we're here to hear the suggestions."

"Exactly!" I whisper yelled. "Here to listen." but he did have a point. Every suggestion is written on the mainboard and everyone gets a copy of the list with their folders. The only problem was... "I never ditched anything."

"You're kidding? Bro, I was like a king of ditching."

"That was you. I was more of a stay-at-home type, lonely nerd kid. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed being alone, I was more comfortable and concentrated. Which is weird considering how many people are here with me in the same room. But the studying paid off, I got a free scholarship to one of the best schools to learn politics and economy."

"Nice life story. Let's get out so I tell you how I spent my teen days?"

I was reluctant about it, but when I looked in his eyes, as cheesy as it sounds, I had to say yes. So I did. And then we snuck out.

It wasn't that much of a sneaking out, everyone was kinda coming and going, mostly for more water, coffee, something to snack or to the bathroom. The difference was that we won't come back so soon.

"Where are we going?"

"Wouldn't you want to know?" we were walking alongside the river, on the promenade.

"I'm still waiting on the life story. And I've been meaning to ask you something."

"Shoot, then I'll tell you about my teens."

"Well, it's more of a statement. These can't be natural curls."

"They are, believe me. I'm all natural."

"All, you say?" my gaze went up and down his body without my permission, and I quickly looked in front of me when I caught myself checking him out.

I might be gay, but that doesn't mean he is.

"So, the story," if he saw what I did, he didn't comment, and I was thankful.

"Nothing special. I ditched classes, mostly history and mathematics. Went to make out with girls instead. One time our tech science teacher caught this one girl and me.  We were embarrassed and afraid he's gonna tell on us and then the girl went ahead and tried to seduce him. She began to make out with him in front of me, and it was like they didn't even remember me. She went to give him a blowjob and I was quick to go out. It turned out they were in relationships for months, he was put in jail but she didn't press charges or anything like that. It's a funny story when you look at it.

The girl you wanted to have sex with went sucking your teachers dick," he said and we began laughing. I was laughing so hard I didn't see the rock and slipped on it. My arms automatically went out to catch myself on the railing or something, anything.

Instead, two strong arms caught my waist. I was pulled into a hard chest, my breath hitched and I grabbed those arms that were around me hard, maybe enough to leave bruises on him.

"Wow, I literally knocked you off your feet with my talking," he whispered against my neck.

"It was my mistake, I wasn't looking."

"I'll ignore that and take my victory. Now, you have to go on a date with me."

"What? Why? I almost fell because of you, why would I want more of that?"

"You know what they say. If they laugh at your jokes, you take a shot."

"It wasn't a joke you were telling."

"Let's pretend it is, please. I like you already," he said and I figured out now was a time to pull from him. I did that and turned to face him.

"Jesse. I'm..."

Decided to leave it here...

It's past midnight, I have trouble falling asleep in warmer times and I have to get up around 6 am (I don't really easily get up) because I'm going to the dentist and I have school in the afternoon until evening. So yeah...

Peace out ✌🏼
