30) Roommates

AUTHOR'S POV; kate and dixie get their room numbers and they are in the same dorm, they go to their dorm and unpack while listening to music

DIXIE; [flops on her bed] thank god!

KATE; [does the same on her bed] finally [laughs]

DIXIE; [picks her phone up off her night stand] oh my mom texted me!

[[[[the text conversation]]]]

DIXIE; lets call noah! [pats her bed for kate to come]

KATE; okay! [jumps onto her bed]

[[[ON CALL]]]

DIXIE; hey baby!

NOAH; bub!! i thought you would never call!

KATE; hey stupid!

NOAH; hey weirdo [laughs] what's your guys' dorm like? are they nice?

DIXIE; we got the same dorm!!

KATE; we're roommates!

NOAH; I'm so happy for you guys!

DIXIE; what's your room like bub?

NOAH; its so cool! it has a painted wall, wanna see!! [excited]

DIXIE; yeah! show us!

NOAH; look! [points the camera to the jungle wall, ifykyk]

DIXIE; that's awesome baby! are you happy there?

NOAH; so happy bub! [smiles]

KATE; i need to go to the bathroom [gets up and winks at dixie]

NOAH; ok weirdo!

[[kate leaves]]

DIXIE; i miss you!

NOAH; i miss you more bub! i wish you could help me unpack! its taking forever!

DIXIE; i wish i could see your room in real life! but i will in 1 month baby! and i cant wait so see you, even though i only left this morning [laughs]

NOAH; i cant wait for that month to pass and i get to see you! [smiles]

DIXIE; did the boys make you download tiktok yet?

NOAH; yes [rolls his eyes] I'm only joking, its quite fun!

DIXIE; told you!! [giggles]

[[they both laugh for a few seconds then they stop and look at each other]]

NOAH; [tears up] i miss hearing that laugh in real life...

DIXIE; i miss your soft lips and big bear hugs... [tears up]

NOAH; [tries to lighten the mood] only a month though bubs! [smiles]

DIXIE; that's 4 weeks baby... [a tear falls]

NOAH; i know... i wish i was there to wipe your tears...

DIXIE; there wouldn't be any tears if you were here...

NOAH; yeah...

DIXIE; i love you so much bubs but i have to go, we are meeting up with some people from high school and having a look around campus! i love you

NOAH; love you more! have fun!

AUTHOR'S POV; they hang up and kate comes out of the bathroom

KATE; how was it?

DIXIE; it was good... i guess

KATE; i know you miss him babes but just count down the days on the calendar and it will fly past!

DIXIE; okay! [takes out her calendar and marks the date she flies home to noah] now lets go meet the others!

KATE; lets go bestie!

AUTHOR'S POV; they meet the others at the café on campus, and start walking around together [Nate, Kouvr, Liam, Aisha are there as well as Kate and Dixie]

DIXIE; hey guys!

NATE; hey bestie! [side hugs Dixie]

KOUVR; heyyyy girls!

AISHA; hi babes!

LIAM; hey dixie [hugs her, in a flirty way]

DIXIE; [nervously laughs] hey Liam....

LIAM; how have you been?

DIXIE; good... [fake smiles]

NATE; [sees dixie uncomfortable] hey dix, come walk beside me [smiles]

DIXIE; ok! [rushes over to him] hey...

NATE; so... what's his deal? [laughs]

DIXIE; [rolls her eyes] i don't even know, but thank you for getting me away [laughs]

NATE; no probs, that's what friends are for? [puts his arm around her] HOW'S NOAH?

DIXIE; really good, he joined sway today and he was so happy i miss him so much tho...

NATE; I'm always here for you no matter what! you know that [kisses the top of her head] love you

DIXIE; love you too [smiles and leans on him while walking]

KATE; so what room number are y'all in?

KOUVR; I'm room 284 with this cute guy Alex [giggles]

AISHA; someone has a crush! I'm room 282 I'm with Nate

NATE; yup! roomies! what about you dix?

DIXIE; I'm with bestie kate! in room 283!

NATE; next door neighbours!

DIXIE; we can have sleepovers [giggles]

LIAM; I'm in room 213 if anyone was wondering [awkward]

AUTHOR'S POV; nate and dixie look at each other and burst out laughing because they forgot he was there

LIAM; what's so funny?

NATE; [stops laughing and gets serious] inside joke....

DIXIE; you wouldn't understand! [looks at nate and smirks]

LIAM; oh ok...

AUTHOR'S POV; they walk around campus talking and making jokes for a while and then they go back to their dorms [[9:20]] kate and dixie are watching a movie on Kate's laptop on Dixie's bed and dixie gets a text
