31) Any Trust?

AUTHOR'S POV; Kate and Dixie stand outside the door waiting for nate to open up

NATE; [opens the door] hey! come in!

DIXIE; [joking] about time [rolls her eyes] stupid!

NATE; [pick her up] what did you say? [tickles her]

DIXIE; no, no, nate please!! [laughing and squirming]

NATE; [puts her down]

DIXIE; [stumbles and falls against Nate]

AUTHOR'S POV; their lips touch but don't kiss

KATE; [in shock]

AISHA; [in shock]

DIXIE; [looks at nate]

NATE; i-I'm so sorry, i didn't mean to...

DIXIE; [cuts him off] it's ok it wasn't a kiss, our lips just touched...

NATE; [sits on the ground with his head in his knees]

DIXIE; [sits beside him and puts her arms around him] nate, its ok!

NATE; no its not, youre my best friend and you have a boyfriend that will beat me up!

DIXIE; [looks at the others] no one!! who saw that is mentioning that to noah!

AISHA,KOUVR,ALEX,KATE; got it! [nod their heads in agreement]

DIXIE; nate... buddy... come here! [hugs him and pulls his head onto her lap and plays with his hair]

NATE; [smiles] thanks dix, you always make me feel better!

[[[Dixie's phone starts ringing]]]

AISHA; oOoOh its Mr. Boyfriend himself!!

DIXIE; answer it and give it to me!

KOUVR; [answers the facetime call] HI NOAH!!

NOAH; [laughs] hey, is dixie there?

AISHA; yup [hands the phone to dixie] here babes!

[[ON CALL]]

DIXIE; sorry about that bubs!

NOAH; new friends hey?

DIXIE; nope! boring old high school friends

[[from the background; we are not boring!!]]

NOAH; [laughs] why you on the ground bubs?

DIXIE; [points the camera to nates head on her lap]

NOAH; oh umm.... wh-who's that? [sounds heartbroken]

DIXIE; one of my best friends i grew up with [smiles]

NOAH; oh... anyway i got to go...

DIXIE; bubs? you called me... no?

NOAH; oh yeah... but i uhh, i forgot i have to do something [hangs up]

[[END OF CALL]]

DIXIE; [stares at the phone blankly]

NATE; thinking* does he think me and dix are more than...] dix, you should go outside to the other room and call him back.... i think he might think us [points between them] is a thing...

DIXIE; shit! [stands up] I'm sorry guys, i really need to call him

ALL; go for it!

KATE; call me if you need me, or if he doesn't believe you...

DIXIE; i will thank you!

NATE; and call me if he starts shouting at you! over protective best friend on duty! [laughs]

DIXIE; [leaves and goes to the other room]

[[ON CALL]]

DIXIE; hey bubs!

NOAH; what?

DIXIE; what's wrong?

NOAH; you and nate.... huh?

DIXIE; baby! don't say that [tears up]

NOAH; what was it then huh?

DIXIE; im gonna explain myself once! don't believe me after that... then i don't know what!

NOAH; go ahead [sarcastic]

DIXIE; me and my 5 friends are hanging out in Aisha's dorm room, it's me, kate, Aisha, nate, kouvr and alex! nate it my childhood best friend, he is so special to me, and to see him hurt, i wasn't just gonna look, he was on the ground crying with his head in his knees and i sat beside him, he has shit mental health and i was comforting him! he laid his head on my lap so that i could play with his hair! because i know that calms him down! you called, kouvr and Aisha answered the phone, kate was the other side of me! what more do you want me to say? you can talk to kate if you want, you can talk to alex, kouvr, Aisha, nate! i don't care! but if there is zero trust in this relationship then i don't know...

NOAH; ..

DIXIE; call me back when you know what you want to say or do! my love for nate will never be as strong as my love for you! or at least that's what I'm thinking right now, but if you keep up this total; dickhead act then my FRIENDSHIP love will be stronger than our ROMANTIC love.... but have it your way [hangs up crying]

[[END OF CALL]]

AUTHOR'S POV; as soon as the others hear the sound of the facetime ending they rush into dixie , kate comes first soon followed by the rest, nate comes in last but sees dixie and gently pushes past them and picks her up

NATE; aww [rubs her back] its ok...

DIXIE; c-can i have a minute?

AUTHOR'S POV; they all leave and nate is about to go

DIXIE; no! [clings onto him] n-not you

NATE; ok [sits on the ground and puts her on his lap] shh, its ok, what did he say?

DIXIE; .nothing

NATE; what do you mean?

DIXIE; i explained and he didn't open his mouth...

NATE; don't worry dix! he'll come around, i promise! [hugs her tight] I'm here for you in the meantime

DIXIE; thank you so much nate [runs her fingers through his hair] i love you

NATE; i love you too!

[dixies phone starts ringing and nate pretends it's his because she doesn't look]

NATE; sorry dix, i have to take this [takes her phone out to the hallway]
