You Say You Care

You say you're here, you say you're there,

Being honest, you never really care.

You say you'll stay with me on the phone,

All night long listening to me moan.

The truth is that you gone,

Blocked out along.

Remember all those hours that I stayed with you,

Awake all night, helping you, as always, that is true.

You said you'd repay that kindness, another lie,

The fool that I am believed and now inside I die.

All alone believing that you're all still here,

Never gone, all a joke, another tear.

I wait by the phone, text to you, saying that I needed you,

Now I realise I can't turn to you, that's so true.

I'm so hurt, you lied to me,

Too busy to acknowledge me, talk to me.

One day I won't be here, answering the call,

On the phone hearing your tears as you ball.

Then you'll be sorry and regretting what you did,

Complaining that all lads are just like pigs.

When I was there, I was here,

I was honest, I always cared.

That's what friends do,

We stick together like a crew.

We're not all the same, there is people out there,

You just don't appreciate and claim that your phone is bare.

You ignore us little ones, pretend we do not care,

Out of sight, out of mind, I'm still here, ain't that rare.

I don't run, I don't hide, I don't walk away,

Because I'm always hear to help and obey.

Fool am I. Fool am I. Take advantage with abuse,

Come on then, what's the excuse?

I hate it, it's pointless, it's not a two way thing,

I devote my time then get a ticket and get told to wait for the ring.

You finish first, yet I finish last,

Losing this race while I clean up your past.

So next time you say you're here and you say you're there,

Just take a moment to think why I no longer care.
