I don't know how long I had been unconscious for, but it must have been a while. I woke up in an empty room.
The walls and floor were all cement. I was sitting in a chair with my hands and legs tied back behind me.
How did I get here? I tried looking around the room for any hint of where I was, but it was dark except for a dusty light on the ceiling.
Then it all came flooding back to me. The black haired boy had knocked me out and must've taken me here.
I didn't know who this guy was or what his intentions were. But I sure as hell did not want to find out.
The only way out of the room was the door about 3 meters across from me. I had no way of getting there.
My neck and back were sore from when the boy had pushed me against the wall in the alley. The ropes that tighed my hands and legs were tight and it would definitely leave a mark.
I started to twist my wrists in an attempt to loosen the bonds. I had to work fast.
Just then, the door burst open and in came a boy I didn't recognize.
He had shaggy light brown hair with hazel eyes. Just like the black haired boy, he was muscular and had a couple tattoos.
He walked up to me and looked me over. I probably looked like a wreck.
"Don't try getting out. You're not going anywhere." he said, gesturing towards the ropes tighing my hands and legs.
"What do you want?" I spit out, my voice sounding more strong that I felt.
He said nothing and only looked me over, like I was a book he was trying to read.
"Look, I won't tell anyone what happened in the alley. Just let me go" I said, silently pleading with him.
"What Mafia are you from? You don't look like you'd be from any around here." he said, a puzzled look plastered on his face.
"What? I'm not from a Mafia" I told him confused.
A dark look crossed his face. "Don't try to lie. That'll only get you in trouble." he told me warningly.
"How much more trouble can I be in." I yelled at him. "Let me go!"
Tears of frustration began to prick my eyes. "I don't know what you want."
He gave me a long stare. He looked as if he would say something more, but finally stepped back with a sigh.
"I wanted to give you a chance by talking to me first" he said making his way towards the door.
What did he mean by that?
"Because let me tell you I'm a dream compared to what Chase is going to do."
And with that, he left the room.
Somehow they thought that I was in some sort of Mafia? Why would I be in one.
I fumbled with the rope on my hands but I knew it was useless. "No please get me out of here" I pleaded to no one in particular.
No one answered my call.
...
The door to the room swung open again and this time I recognized the boy.
It was the dark haired one from the alley. Just the sight of him made my heart beat speed.
He came to me and grabbed my neck. Shots of pain sprang through me from where he had choked me before.
I screamed and wiggled but to no avail. He squeezed tighter. "Who are you?"
"I'm.... Kaitlyn.... Frey!" I said between gasps.
"Who do you work for?" he said angrily.
"No one." He looked at me, a deadly gleam in his eyes. He pulled out a knife from him pocket.
"No" I gasped. I thrashed in my seat, trying to get away from him but he still had his grip on my neck.
He brought the knife closer to my face. "Tell me what mafia you came from" he barked.
"I told you I don't come from a mafia I swear" I told him. I kept my gaze on the knife that was inches from my face.
"If you won't tell the truth then I'll make you" He snarled.
He dug the knife deep into my cheek, slashing a line across it. A wrenching cry escaped my lips.
"Now I'll ask you again. What mafia are you from?"
I could feel the blood running down my face. My heart was pounding rapidly and I felt like I was going to pass out.
"I came from a party last night. I ran away from it after-" I paused. I remembered what happened with Aiden. Had Carly and Jess realized I was gone yet?
"After what?" He questioned impatiently.
"After something happened with a boy. I was just trying to go somewhere when I saw you kill those men."
He swiped his knife on my cheek again, cutting across the line he had just made.
I screamed in pain. "Dont fucking lie to me" he said while letting go of my throat.
"I don't know what you want me to do" I croaked. "I've been telling you the truth."
He ran his hands through his hair. "Is it Cade? Do you work for Cade? I told that son of a bitch to stop messing with my mafia."
"For fucks sake I'm not in a mafia!" I screamed at him.
He raised his hand, the one clenching the knife. I braced for another cut, but he quickly shoved it back into his pocket.
"I will fucking kill you when I find out who you're working for" he sneered. "You'd better hope I don't find out your lying."
That was last thing I heard from him before he was gone. He left me sitting in the chair, blood trickling down my cheek.
I sat there staring at the floor. Why was this happening to me?
