I woke up in bed alone. It seemed that Chase was never here in the morning.

I turned over and looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand. Holy shit it was already twelve.

Chase told me he would wake me up early to start training since tomorrow was the trade. I wanted as much practice as I could get before then.

I wondered why Chase hadn't woken me up yet. We needed all the time we could get before tomorrow.

I got out of bed and walked down the hall. I stopped in front of Ivy and Ryker's room where I saw Ivy doing her hair at the vanity.

"Hey Ivy" I said as I walked into the room.

"Kaitlyn can you please help me with my hair" she asked desperately. She looked in the mirror and attacked her head with a brush.

"I've been trying to get this knot out for twenty minutes now and this... stupid... thing... won't... untangle" she said in between yanks.

I laughed and took the brush from her. I started to gradually comb out the knot from her dark mahogany hair.

"Thanks Kaitlyn. I probably would've gone insane and ripped off all my hair if I had to do that one more time" she giggled.

I smiled at her. "Well that's one thing we have in common" I said. "We're both impatient."

"Very true" Ivy laughed. I looked back at her in the mirror and saw her face drop suddenly.

"What's wrong?" I asked. She shook her head and started playing with her fingers. "Nothing" she muttered.

I put the brush down on the table and sat in the chair next to her. "Ivy what is it?" I questioned. What had put her in a bad mood so quickly?

"It's just.... the mission. I can't stop worrying about it" she mumbled.

I sighed. "Me either."

She brought her legs up on the chair and shifted to face me. "Ryker always told me that I wasn't allowed to be involved in any Mafia business. To be honest, I always wanted to see what it was like to do stuff for a Mafia" she admitted. "But now that it's actually going to happen, I don't want any part of it."

I totally agreed with her. Training with Chase yesterday was exhilarating and in the moment, I thought it wouldn't be too bad to go on the mission. But now as the trade gets closer, I'm doubting it even more.

"I feel the same way" I told her. "I mean how are we expected to complete the mission when it was thrown at is in a split second with no time for preparation."

Ivy bit her lip and looked down into her lap. When she met my gaze again, her eyes were filled with tears.

"Kaitlyn I'm so scared" she sobbed. "What if I get hurt or- or killed and what if you get hurt or killed. Or what if one of the boys get hurt or killed" she rambled, tears strolling down her face.

It broke me to see Ivy acting this way. She always looked so strong and confident like nothing could bring her down. Seeing her like this reminded me that she was feeling the same way I was. I wasn't alone in this continuous feeling of hurt.

I took her hands quickly in mine and squeezed them. "Ivy it's ok. Nothing like that is going to happen" I tried to reassure her.

"But it could" she sniffled. I gripped her hands tighter making her look at me. "It won't Ivy. We'll all be there to protect each other so none of that happens."

Ivy was always the one to comfort me and I wasn't doing a very good job of it the other way around. I didn't know how to help her not be scared when I was scared myself.
