Me and Ivy made our way downstairs and into the kitchen. I was instantly hit with the smell of food. My mouth drooled.
I realized I hadn't eaten at all since the party. I was starving.
I walked in and saw all of the food layed out on the table. It all looked so delicious.
"Kaitlyn come" Chase ordered. He patted the seat next him and I reluctantly took it. I scooched away from him as far as the chair would allow me.
Ivy took the seat next to Ryker and we started piling our plates with food. I took as much as I could fit on my plate and started digging in. It tasted amazing.
"Did they catch that guy that was working with Vincent yet?" Ryker asked Chase.
"Yeah a few days ago. They're bringing him in. I'm supposed to see him tomorrow at headquarters" Chase said.
"How much did he steal when we found him?" Hayes asked.
"About a grand" Chase told him.
"Your dad must not be happy about that" Hayes said with a sigh.
"He's furious" Chase told him.
"I don't get why we can't just kill him" Ryker muttered.
"We need him if we want to see where Vincent's base is. Plus I think he might know something about what happened at the club last week."
It made me feel sick talking about all this mafia business. I didn't get how anyone could be so cruel as these people are.
"So Kaitlyn" Alyssa cooed from her seat. "Where did you come from? Chase told me he found you in an alley but how did you get there?"
I wiped my napkin on my mouth. I didn't want to talk about my personal life with killers at the dinner table, but I obliged.
"I came from a party" I told her. "I was drunk."
"Why did you leave the party?" she asked. I could tell that she liked making me feel uncomfortable in the spotlight.
"I got upset and I left" I told her. Hopefully she would accept my answer and leave it that.
"Why'd you get upset?" Now she was just trying to piss me off.
"It was something about a boy" I didn't want to say anything about it further.
"Really?" she chuckled. "A boy? Were you having trouble in paradise with your boyfriend?" she teased me menacingly.
"Okay Alyssa that's enough" Hayes warned.
"I'm just trying to have fun" she said exasperated. "She's just so innocent."
I dug back into my food quietly. God I felt like crying.
"I want to know this too" Ryker said, leaning his elbows on the table and staring at me wickedly. "How did a pathetic girl like you stumble into an alley and witness a couple of murders."
"Ry, don't push her" Ivy told him.
"I can do what I whatever I fucking want!" he barked at her. She didn't back away but I could glimpse a bit of fear in her eyes. She wasn't lying when she said she wasn't that scared of him. That would have made anyone curl up in a ball and cry.
"Kaitlyn go on" Chase ordered. "Ryker asked you a question."
I swallowed down my discomfort.
"My ex tried to hit on me at the party" I told them.
"Awwhh did that hurt someone's feelings" Alyssa said in a babyish tone.
I didn't respond. I hated this. Why did everyone find it so amusing to watch me in fear. I didn't want to live like this.
