I'm speechless. . . I can't comprehend it. I need to see what time it is. I rush to my locker, open it, and dig out my phone. It's 9:05. No time has passed. Again. My mind starts to jump into a whirlpool of thoughts.

Where did I go? Why did I get chosen? What was I selected for? Is it just me who experienced this? She did mention my beloved, but who?

I sigh and put my phone away. I walk back to the bathroom and look in the mirror. I look just the same. My silky, smooth, dark brown hair is braided behind my shoulders. I still am comfortably in my school uniform, but in my eyes, I see myself in that flowy green dress, dotted with flowers of all kinds. My hair is in a messy bun with two strands in my face, just like Lily's.

I don't understand. . . what is happening to me?

I take a closer look in the mirror. Another vision?

I see the book Lily gave me. I appear to be reading it. I then abruptly look up to see myself smiling at a boy who hovers over my shoulders. Flames then start to burst from the palms of his hands. Instead of rushing to stop the fire, the boy puts a smile on his face and starts to laugh. His mouth begins to move and I sense that he's speaking.

But why can't I hear what he is saying?

It then occurs to me that I can't hear what is happening. That's part of the vision, I suppose. I then appear to be laughing with him, like it is some type of joke.

Then I remember I had received the exact same book. I rushed back to the hallway where I left it. I have to push through a whole bunch of people to find where I left it.

Everyone is laughing, talking, giggling, gossiping, or shoving each other. Some teachers talk among one another outside of their classrooms, and Officer Smith roams the corridors with his guard dog, Bruno.

I then see the book, laying on the hallway floor. It doesn't have a title. Strange. Once I reach it I open it to the first page and I notice a letter.

𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝒜𝓁𝓁𝓎,𝒫𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑒 𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓀 𝒶𝓉 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈 𝒸𝑜𝒹𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒹𝑒𝒸𝒾𝓅𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝒾𝓉 𝒸𝑜𝓇𝓇𝑒𝒸𝓉𝓁𝓎. 𝒴𝑜𝓊 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓊𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒾𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝑜𝓇𝒹𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝑜 𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓇𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝒿𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓃𝑒𝓎. 𝒩𝑜 𝓂𝒶𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝒽𝑜𝓌 𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒹 𝒾𝓉 𝒾𝓈, 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝒹𝑜 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒾𝓉 𝓉𝒶𝓀𝑒𝓈. I stare at the letter in shock. I can't even think correctly, as my mind is whipping up a whirlpool of questions. Why? What does this mean? How? Other components?

I look up to see kids filing out of their classes and into the hallway. I immediately stand up and slide down the hallway. At the corner of my eye, I see Melinda and Kylie coming down on the right side, trying to not get squished between kids pushing their way through the crowds.

I run to my locker and shove the book in with all of my other crammed projects and loose papers. I think about putting the letter in there as well, but instead, I quickly shove the letter into my pocket just before I see Melinda and Kylie walking up to my locker door. I take my books out of my locker as fast as I can, and I start to walk the opposite way.

Just then, I do something I would never have done under different circumstances. I walk past them and into the bathroom without saying a word.
