Mrs. Bailey comes downstairs after we have scrambled back into our seats.
"How was dinner, Ally?" Connor's mother asks.
"It was delicious, thank you!" I answered.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it! How was Connor during dinner? I hope he wasn't a nuisance." She said, narrowing her gaze on Connor.
"Mother," Connor whined.
"No, he was very polite. He wasn't a nuisance at all." I said in defensive mode. I winked at Connor.
"To my surprise," Mrs. Bailey muttered under her breath.
"Why, he is actually more of a gentleman then you might realize, Mrs. Bailey." I say. That was the pure truth.
"Well, I'm thankful for the good news." She replies.
"Well, I should get going, my mother will be worried about me if I stay any longer." I announce. Connor has a worried look on his face, and I know the reason why. I put a hand on his shoulder, in a way to tell him that I'll be alright alone, and that we will work out the code as soon as possible.
I walk through the front door at around 9:30. I trudge to the kitchen to try and find a small night time snack. The food was delicious, but we didn't have a lot of time to eat due to the vision we had mid-dinner.
After I manage to grab a granola bar from the pantry, I close up the house, and I head upstairs to my bedroom.
But before I flop down on my bed, I see something glimmering in the moonlight on my bedside table. I walk over to it and I gasp. It's an absolutely stunning ring.
There is an emerald in the middle with green leaves surrounding it. There is some silver and some diamonds also.
I pick it up and as soon as I do, I feel calm. It's almost an unnatural feeling, that almost can't be described. I close my eyes and there I am.
I'm in the clouds talking to Lily, Hazel, and Connor in front of Lily's house. Connor seems more relaxed and so do I. There are only brief hints of surprise in Connor's eyes. There are two women that at first I don't recognize but then I remember. I think that they look like my mom and Connor's mom. Wait, my mom. How is she here? She has been missing, and here she is. I try to run up to her, but my legs refuse to let me move. I sigh, knowing that I'm not meant to move.
Then my thoughts wander to Connor's mom. Why is she here? Mrs. Bailey was just here yesterday, and now she's in my vision? Why? Everything just doesn't make sense. What's going on? I just exhale mixed with emotion and reluctance as I wait to see what happens.
Then I feel what has happened many times before. The happiness starts to fade as do the colors. The sounds and scents start to fade as they disappear from my palate, as I am left in darkness.
I wake up gasping for air as I look around for my clock. The ring I found is still there. I put it on and I'm calm again. So I keep it on. It's midnight. I shudder as I pull the covers back over me and lay there wide awake.
What just happened and what did it all mean?
So many questions left unanswered.
I sigh, knowing that these questions of what and why are only repeated questions that I've asked every vision. I can't help but grow frustrated with all of these unanswered questions and lack of information. I don't try to sit up, instead I lay there until I drift off to sleep.
