I eventually get a good night's rest, surprisingly. I wake up only to hear my phone ringing, and I find that it's practically off of my nightstand. I check the ID. Connors calling me. I wonder why.

"Hey Ally. I need to tell you something" Connor says. I can tell his voice has an urgent tone, and that his breaths are quick.

"Hey Connor. Whats up? Is everything alright?" I responded.

"My mom, something's not right with her. She's always here, she's a stay-at-home mom so she should be here, otherwise she would have left a note-",

"Connor, what are you trying to say?" I ask, interrupting him. I could hear Connor's rough and quick breathing through the phone.

"My mother was stolen. She had to be. I don't know what else would have happened." He said, trying to take control of his breath. I heard a sad sigh on the other end of the line before I heard a definite reply.

"My mother was stolen." Connor says. I can hear muffled cries through the telephone.

Stolen. Just like my mom was.

"Connor, I'm so sorry. . I-I don't know what else to say. . I'm just, so sorry." I say, shocked. My mother, now his. How much worse could it get? The next and final noise I hear is the phone beeping. Connor hung up on me.

The next thing I know, I hear the chimes of the doorbell ringing. Just a few moments before, I pulled my hair into a messy high bun, and I put on jeans and a white t-shirt.

I get up and I walk downstairs. There is only one person it could be. Connor. As it turns out, I'm right. I invite him silently inside and he takes his shoes off, shakes out his coat, and gingerly sits on the couch.

We say nothing for a few minutes, as I am closing the door, and sitting in the recliner next to where Connor is sitting. Suddenly, Connor starts to speak abruptly, almost shouting into thin air.

"I don't understand. Why my mother? What did she do to this planet to be cursed like this? Why was she stolen? I-I don't understand!"

I said nothing as he continued to shout out comments, trying not to get involved. When he finished, I started to speak in a calm voice.

"Connor, I understand how you feel. And just to be sure, you can go ahead and say what you want, go on and hit something for all I care. It's hard, and there are so many unanswered questions about all of this. When, what, where, why? Connor, all I want to do is help you. I just want you to understand that alone."

"I know, Ally. It really is hard. She has been my rock since I first came into this world, and I don't know what else to do." Connor says.

"I understand, Connor. My mother has also been my rock since forever. I tried to handle myself, but I couldn't. I just couldn't. It's not that simple." I say. I make an attempt to change the subject.

"Did you have a vision last night by any chance?"

"Well, I wouldn't call it a vision. . . It was. . weird. I couldn't even describe it." Connor says. I put my hand on his, making an effort to comfort him.

"Could you try?" I ask, looking into his eyes. He looks at me and sighs.

"We were in an elegant forest that i've never seen before. Hazel and this other lady were there talking to us. . for some reason I could not hear what they were saying. We seemed to be having a good time. But here's the weird part. There were another pair of women there. I couldn't get a good glimpse of them though. I just stood there. I tried to move, but my legs didn't let me. Then all the happiness and all the color drained out of everything until the world was black and white. I heard thundering getting closer, until I eventually woke up. Now talking about it, I would consider it a vision." Connor explained. I sat there, in the middle of my thoughts. It seemed like he had the same vision I had. Just in a different perspective. I recognized those two women though.

"Connor, I think I know who the two unknown women you were talking about are." I say, not making eye contact.

"Wait, what? How?" Connor asks sharply.

"Our mothers." I reply.
