Hazel's voice seems to echo in the room. My heart seems to do the same. Connor has to come with? This is crazy- Actually, no. This is insane! I start to daze, and my vision starts to blur. I need to figure out what just happened, but how? Science can't help me now. I don't know what to say or do.

"I know this can put a lot of shock on you but you need Connor, and he needs you." she says softly. I know she's right. I do need him. I need to tell him.

"There's just a bit of a problem, Hazel. . ." I say. I look at my feet, dangling off of my bed. my palms start to sweat.

"I. . practically haven't met him-I mean, I've talked to him a few times, and he is in some of my school classes. . . but we haven't had a. . full conversation." I say, stumbling with my words. I keep my gaze on the ceiling in the enclosure we were trapped in, as my face starts to turn red.

"Well then call him and get a move on. I know you might be nervous about what is happening, and I understand that. Mainly because I live in this world full time. You are meant to do this because of your skills and strength. It's hard mentally, and physically. I believe you can do it. I know you can do it." she says.

"But I don't know if I can." I say, my voice is unbearably shaky.

"No but's. If I believe in you, you should believe in yourself." She says. She smiles at me, with clear determination on her face. Soon the familiar blackness clouds around me, and shortly, I can't hear a sound.

I roll over in my bed. I slowly get up and out of bed, and I trudge towards my closet. I leave my room with a light blue T-shirt, some black shorts, and socks. I scrape my hair into double french braids and I go downstairs into the kitchen. I pull the Honey Nut Cheerios from the shelf and grab the milk from the fridge. When I finish, I put my dishes in the sink with a clatter and I pull my phone out of my pocket. After an anxious half an hour I found the paper where Connor wrote his number a few days before.

I insert the number into the phone, and I press the call button. I wait nervously until he picks up.

"Er. . hi!" I say, extremely nervous.

"Ally? Is that you?" Connor asks.

"Yes, it is! I'm surprised you remembered!" I exclaim, trying to brighten up his, and my own mood.

"Oh, I remembered." He says. I take a deep breath.

"What can I help you with?" Connor asks in a lighter tone.

"Well, could you come over for a few minutes?" I ask.

"Um, hold on a second." I can hear him shout down and I hear a woman reply. I can't make out what the answer is.

"Ally? Are you still there?" he asks.

"Yeah, I'm still here." I replied.

"My mom said I'm able to come over. I'll be right there." he says happily.

He hangs up and I put my phone back in my pocket and breathe a sigh of relief. Around ten minutes later, I hear the doorbell ring. I look out the front window. Connor is outside waving at me, and I quickly run towards the door to let him in.

"Hi, Connor." I say, smiling.

"Hello, Ally." He says.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Come on in! It is incredibly hot for June." I say, trying to make conversation.

"Agreed. An incredible ninety-eight degrees." He says.

He stands at the front door for a few seconds, I realize what the time is: 7:22 A.M. He must have not had breakfast yet. It's Saturday, after all.

"You can sit down. Are you hungry? Do you want something to drink?" I ask.

"No, I'm good but thanks." as he says this, his stomach growls. I swear I heard a lion in that stomach.

"I'll get you something. Anyway you look like you need it." I say. His face relaxes and he slumps on the couch. I walk to the pantry and grab the only thing that Connor might want in there: Oreos. I don't think he would like a good old can of tuna. Besides, at least the Oreos will help him be more cheery. I'll go shopping later. I walk the Oreos to the table where Connors is sitting and I open them.

He immediately dives for them, forcing four cookies in his hands. I can't help but let out a laugh. He eventually finds room to take a breath.

"What did you want me here for?"

"Um. . ." I take a deep breath. "Well, it's complicated. It is something. . . that I haven't even told my best friends." I start. Connor raises one eyebrow.

"So instead of telling your best friends, you call someone you just met?" He asks, stuffing more Oreos in his face.

"Well, I did, so. . yes." I say.

"Well, what is the important thing you need to tell me?"

"Well. . . I have these. . . dreams. . . you could call them visions. . ."and once I start, everything spills out of me. When I've finished, approximately twenty minutes have gone by.

"And you have to come with me apparently." I finish. "Do you think i'm crazy?" I add, nervous for his response.

"No of course not! Why would I? But I'm speechless." Connor looks shocked.

All of a sudden, tears fall down my face. I had promised myself to not cry since my father left me, and just today I broke that promise. I sit there for a few more moments before I feel I have control over myself again.

"So, when do we start?" he asks, trying to cheer me up.

"I'm not sure. . the last vision was more of a cliffhanger than anything." I say. Connor suddenly turns red, stands up and sits back across from me. We sit in silence for a few minutes until Connor breaks the silence.

"I told my mom I'd be home before 8:00. I need to go. Thank you, Ally. I can understand how much this means to you. I can't wait for it!" he winks at me and smiles. I smile back and he stands up and slides his feet into his flip flops. Before he walked out the door, I ran up to him.

"Please don't tell anyone."I whisper.

He nods without looking back. I shut the door, and I look out the window to watch him walk, until he disappears over the horizon.
