For the past hour, Arjun was sitting on his desk, playing with his pen. It was a Sunday afternoon, and for once, he could sit and relax for a while. For a change, he had kept the shop closed for the day. Initially, he planned to study for the upcoming final semester, but he couldn't concentrate!
The only thought revolving in his head was of Anu. The past week, he had thought a lot. Why was it so hard for him to work on his relationship? We're they enduring each other out of obligation? That was the last thing he wanted. But the next moment, he remembered the times when the situation was otherwise. The day when Arjun got his first big stationery order, his first call was dialled to Anu. When Anu was announced as the winner of the inter-college debate competition, Arjun was the first one to know. So, Yes, they were busy, but never away from each other, in spirit. They were building their life. Arjun convinced himself, thinking that they were normal. They just need to spend more time together. And now, with the final exams around the corner, they will get enough time for each other, once their internship starts!
As much as he thought, he was more and more sure, that they both loved each other. Time was only the problem. He vowed to compensate for all the time lost, after the final semester. He sighed, as he finally saw a ray of positivity after a long time. He felt a little bit better after making the decision. His phone rang, bringing him out of his thoughts, displaying the name of Dr Patwardhan, his professor and the head of the Cardiology Department. Over the years, Arjun had gained a good reputation in his college and among his professors. Dr Patwardhan was most impressed by the young man. Arjun was a bit surprised to see the caller id.

"Hello, Sir! Good afternoon!"

"Good Afternoon, Arjun! How are the studies coming along?"

"It's all fine, Sir!" Arjun smiled.

"Good! Good! Keep it up! We have too many hopes from you!" Sir said, with admiration.

"I'll try my best, Sir!" Arjun loved this man!

Dr Patwardhan chuckled, "That's like my boy! Okay... Now the reason why I called you.... You know our college provides a five-year scholarship to the best final year student every year, right?"

A bewildered Arjun said, "Yes... I have heard..."

"Then meet me tomorrow in my office. I am forwarding your name for the scholarship."

Arjun was baffled, "What? But... But final exams are not done yet!"

Dr Patwardhan chuckled, "I know! But I also know that whatever your academic score, you are a well-deserved candidate. Just meet me tomorrow. We will talk then!"

Arjun was short of words, " Yes... Ok... Th... Thank you so much, Sir!"

The next moment he dialled Anu's number.

"Hello..." He heard some noises in the background.

"Hey!" Anu said, relieved.

"Are you busy?" Arjun asked.

"No! Just at some boring family gathering. Thank God you called!" She mentally sighed.

"Okay. I wanted to tell you something. Patwardhan Sir has suggested my name for the scholarship." Arjun said in one breath.

"Wha.... Whoa...!! Are you serious? This is so fucking big, Arjun!!! I am so happpyyyy!!!!! You know what? You just turned my boring day into a wonderful one!" Anu was screaming!
