                Though it had been only ten to fifteen days since the college started , students were already buried neck deep in their books. Most first year students were already frustrated with all the pressure of submissions ,practicals, mock tests and what not. And there were some  people with delicate hearts who would faint at the first sight of blood in the practical sessions. It was a very common thing in medical colleges. But for many amoung them , it was their passion that drove them to study like there is no tomorrow.
                  Anu  obviously belonged to the second catagory. She would excitedly take every challenge and face it. In addition to mock tests, practicals she would study tirelessly throughout the nights and still she would want to do some more. Such was her passion. But lately she was gradually starting to feel passionate about something new . As weird it felt, but she loved the mere sight of him. They had not met since that first day of college. All thanks to him. He never spared her a single glance since then and so she seriously doubted whether he even remember her.
                  At first she tried to control her urge to find him . She was herself astonished by the way her eyes would involuntarily start scanning the crowd the moment she would enter the college gates. She never gave this much importance to anyone before, not even to her family. She remembered the way she snapped at her mother today morning when her mother was just telling her to help her in the kitchen. She felt guilty for a moment.

Look at me now. I am acting as if my life is fully depending on him.

She used to dismiss the feeling of strong attraction whenever he would enter the classroom.  And she even had neha for distraction. But nowadays even neha is busy wandering the campus ,or studying in the library with Ronit. Those two had grown closer in past few days. Nowadays they were practically as inseperable as some love sick puppies. It was only a matter of time before they became official. Anu was happy for her best friend . But sometimes  she would terribly miss her , especially when she couldn't distract herself from the tormenting thoughts of Arjun. Nowadays she would hang around alone mostly. Sometimes astha would accompany her. She had become a good friend since the ragging incident.  But when anu would be alone, her mind would rewind and replay the incident when she had seen her hero for the first time. It was as if she had no control over her mind.
                    Even right now she was acting like a oh- so- studious girl sitting in the library. But only she knew that it was a farce. She was just staring intently at the pages but had no idea what was actually written in them.
Looks like my passion for medicine is replaced something else.

She thought helplessly.
                  Suddenly she was snapped out of her day dreaming by a loud thud of books on her desk. Anu looked up to find her best friend smiling at her.  Anu almost wanted to kiss her friend for interrupting her futile crazy thoughts, other wise she would have gone mental.
" Oh, look who is here? How I got so lucky today  that I got to meet you? Anu said narrowing her eyes. Neha pouted and sat opposite Anu.
" Sorry yaar, I shouldn't have left you."
Anu snickered and smacked neha's head." I was kidding Dumbo.  Now, tell me, how is it going with your new friend?" Neha looked at Anu who was smiling knowingly and blushed," He is so good Anu. I mean he is obviously good looking but more than that I just love his nature." Anu was amused as neha was automatically transported to her Dreamland.

Is it  like this when one is in love?

She wondered.
" Ooooo, you LOVE his nature , what else do you LOVE about him, pray tell me, miss neha?" Anu said playfully emphasizing the word love.
Neha was flustered ," C' mon yaar, you know what I mean. "
Anu was surprised to see that her crazy friend was even capable of feeling shy. Anu was loving this.
She laughed and asked," I didn't know you can even blush . Anyways , how come you are alone today? "
" Well he has gone out with Arjun. You know Arjun, right?"Neha asked.
" Umm....yeah" Anu said ....
