Chapter 70

ALICIA’S POV: 

I couldn’t take my eyes of him. Bill had told me to get some sleep while he was watching him, but I couldn’t calm down to sleep. I just lay in the dark, staring at our beautiful boy. It was pretty incredible, this… Giving life to such a perfect little person. 

“Alicia, get some sleep…” Bill layed behind me on the small bed with his arm around me. When I turned around I saw that his eyes were shut. 

“How do you know that I’m awake by just looking at the back of my head?”

“You think I need to have my eyes open to know that you’re awake? And for the fact, I know you pretty well”

I sighed and sat up in the bed and soon Bill sat up next to me. I couldn’t stop staring at Leon. He was perfect, and he was mine. 

“He is so perfect” I mumbled and I felt Bills arm around me. 

“I know… He’s kind of ours…” His voice was sleepy so I turned around to see him. 

“You could sleep, I’ll be up….”

“Actually, baby, he is asleep, and we would wake up when he does wake up. We both should get some sleep”

“I can’t” I protested. 

Bill lay down next to me and I could hear him sigh. In a few minutes I heard him snore and I giggled. I really didn’t know what I would do without him. 

I got out of bed and walked over to the mini bed Leon was sleeping in. I know I shouldn’t but I couldn’t hold myself when I took him up in my arms. In just seconds I understood that was a big mistake, because he started cry like there was no tomorrow. 

Bill woke up and turned the lights on. 

“Oh, what happened?” he asked me as I sat down on the bed again. 

“I woke him up…”

“Why?”

I really didn’t have a good answer to it, so I stayed shut, trying to keep him calm. I tried with if he was hungry, but that didn’t work, I tried putting him back to sleep in the bed, but then he only cried louder – if it could get any louder. I was kind of afraid that he would wake up the whole hospital, it was 3 am. 

“Schh… Please…” I begged him and got up to walk around with him. 

“I can take him” Bill walked over to me but I pulled him away. 

“I can take care of my own son, you know?” I snapped at him and his face showed a lot of impatient. I was only waiting for snide comment in return, but instead he inhaled and looked at me. 

“I know that! But you don’t have to do everything on you own… We are in this together!”

I took what he said in and I couldn’t help myself yawn and I finally gave up and handed Leon over to him. 

“Go to sleep!”
I did as he told me and I heard him try calm Leon down, which he succeeded with. I felt myself relax and the sounds around me were getting lower until they complete were gone and I fell asleep. 

I woke up hours later by the sound of many voices around, a couple of voices that I didn’t recognize. I opened my eyes and sat up in the bed. 

“Oh, she’s awake” I heard Simone say and the others voices came closer. 

Suddenly I recognized the voices, and I catch my breath when I saw whom the voices belonged to. 

“Hey sweetie”

I stared at the woman in front of me, the woman I should be calling my mother. 

Before I could think I walked out of the room, with Leon in my arms, but just so I could give Bill an angry look. I can’t believe he did invite my family after everything I told him the day before yesterday. 
How could he do that to me?
