Chapter 31
“Can you get me some coffee while you’re out?”I sighed; I knew it was a catch behind Tom’s phone call.
“Yeah…”
We ended the call and I went into Starbucks. I had had a meeting with David about the upcoming album, while the rest of the guys were getting ready for our party tonight.
“One coffee to go”
The female cashier smiled and walked away, while I impatience waited for my brother’s coffee… I hadn’t slept well the last couple of days, because my sleep had been interrupted by nightmares, nightmares about Alicia.
In one she was driving her car and ran out of a cliff. It had paid off that I woke up all sweaty.
Another one I had last night. We ran to each other on the street and she told me that we would try again. That she had left her fiancé and she loved me. My life was complete when she said that to me.
I laughed and kissed her. She told me to wait while she would get something from her car and walked over to the street she got hit by a car.I was more than afraid when I woke up this morning, and David’s meeting had saved me. That had helped me keep my mind of other things.
“Sir? Your coffee is good to go”
“Okay, thanks”
I took it and walked out the shop. I was about to go to my car when I bumped in to someone. I dropped the mug and the coffee spilled on the street.
“Hey!” the other one said out loud and I looked up.
“What… Oh, hey”
When I saw her familiar face I felt like I was stabbed right in heart. I had forgotten all about her, but now she was filling up my head again.
“You… you’ve cut your hair” she said after a while of silence.
“Yeah… yes… I thought it was time to do it”
“It looks good”
I smiled at her and felt the guilt go through my body. I had really been a jerk the last time we met.
“Look, I’m sorry…” I said at the same time she started saying something similar to me.
We smiled about it and I took a step forward.
“I really am sorry for being such a jerk”
“It’s fine… I wasn’t the pleasant person in the world, either”
“Let me make it up to you”
She seemed to hesitate.
"We’re having a party tonight… not a big thing, but please come… You don’t know how guilty I feel!”
“I don’t know…” she scraped her foot on the ground.
“I want us to be friends” I smiled. “As soon as you want to leave, you leave, okay?”
She still hesitated.
“Please! I'm feeling so bad”
“Oh, alright then”
“Great! I’ll send you the address and you can come around eight?”
“Alright. See you later”
I smiled and walked over to my car. But whatafuck was I doing? She was getting married.
I couldn’t flirt with her anymore, could I? That was a one-time thing only.
I could handle just being friends with her, right? That was all I could think about all the way home, and I wasn’t sure inviting Alicia was such a good idea anymore.
When I got the house Tom met me at the door.
“Hey! Where’s my coffee?”
Oh, Billicia again ;-) How will it go? :-P
