Chapter 46
I looked at her. Had she just said “his”? Like he, like a boy? She had tears in her eyes and I pulled her into my arms.
“Everything will be fine”
She dried her tears got out of my grip.
“Alica… Did you say that it was a boy?”
“What?”
“Ja… you said ‘his’ father?”
“Aha, uhm, yes it’s a boy”
I felt an enormous joy filled me up inside and I couldn’t help smiling.
“We are having a boy?”
“If it’s yours… yes”
“What? ‘If it’s yours’? I’m getting really tired of your attitude… It’s like you hope it’s not mine! Like you don’t want it to be my baby!”
She got up on her feet.
“What’s the best, huh? A father who’s an abuser, or a father who is a rock star?!” she stared at me and I couldn’t believe my ears.
“I hope you really don’t mean that!”
“But I do! I will be raising this baby all by myself!”
“That’s why you acting like this? You think I’m going to bail on you?”
She shrugged her shoulders and did everything not to keep eye contact with me.
“Alicia! I love you! And even if the baby is not mine, I will love it as if it is! He is! I want to be with you, only you!”
I walked up to her and pulled her into my arms again and kissed her lips.
“I love you” I whispered in her ear.
I felt her arms around my body.
“I love you too”
It was the first time we ever said it to each other and I looked into her beautiful eyes before I kissed her again. I licked her bottom lip for permission to enter. She opened her mouth and our tongues began playing.
“OH! What was…!!” I began and took a step back and looked down at her belly. She had stood so close to me that I felt the baby kicked. My eyes were twice as big.
“Oh, my God! I just felt it kick!”
“Yeah…! I bet he likes his daddy!” she smiled.
“Yes! Of course he is!”
We did not know if I was the father, but if I wasn’t it I still would love this guy as if he were my own. I wanted to talk to Alicia about if he was not mine; I still wanted to ensure that we would count him as mine. I did not want Zack anywhere near around him as long as I lived. But I was not going to bring it up now.
“Oh…” I heard Alicia said.
“What? What is it?”
“He is kicking!” she grunted and looked down at her belly.
“That can’t be annoying?”
“Well, you try it for a day! You wouldn’t last an hour!”
“Oh, yes I would!”
“No way!”
“You want to go straight down in the pool?” I threatened and grabbed her by her waist.
“Maybe I want to! Just toss me away…!”
“You know it’s not fun when you have permission to do it…” I sighed and she started laughing at me.
“You’re so weird…”
“I know, that’s why we make such a good couple!” I leaned down and kissed her.
