Mated To A Convict
Chapter 1: The Good And The Bad
Taylor Deleon (Maiden name is Fox) POV: (Pic of Taylor above) (Author's Note: Updates are guaranteed no longer than one week apart.)
I grip the side of the car door as Dominic pushes 100MPH.
"Mom what's going on? Who's Soren?" Xander ask's.
I look at Dominic through the rear view mirror and he looks like he's freaking out. After the incident with Soren, we picked up and left. We packed very little, got our dog Lilly, announced the problem to the Pack, and left. Of all people, Soren is the parent of my son's friend.
After Xander was born, we moved to Virginia with the Pack and a new identity in hope of laying low. Andy, my commanding officer, had found out about Dominic and I was wanted for aiding and abetting a criminal. That criminal being Dominic Deleon. The law didn't know about Xander so we were fine.
Everything went as planned. With a change of our looks and identity, no one noticed a thing, but we still stay away from the public as much as possible. What I'm freaked about is the fact that Soren is supposed to be dead.
When he kidnapped me, he hated my baby. He just never got the chance to harm him. And now, the chance has been handed to him.
I look at Xander and see the panic on his face as we fly down the interstate. "It's no one Baby. We're moving."
"Why Mom? Why won't you tell me?" He begs. I have to remember he's not five. He's thirteen and he's not stupid.
"Look, it's going to take a lot of explaining, so lets wait until we get to Uncle Brett's house, ok?" I ask. He nods his head and grips his seat belt. How do I tell my son his father and I are convict's?
"Slow down, Dominic." I announce. He does as told and grips the steering wheel hard. We kept in contact with Brett, Sandy, and Brad. We have Grant and Austin's number, but their still up to the criminal antics and I want nothing to do with it.
I see Xander put his headphones in so I lean up through the middle of the front seats, "What are we going to do, Dominic?"
"We're going to lay low at Brett's for a while. After that, we're moving states. He's never getting his hands on my family again. Not until I'm six feet under." He growls.
I nod my head and say, "Slow down. Cop ahead." He slows again and I lean back.
Lilly sits in the front seat without a care in the world. Lilly is our dog, she's half blue healer, half red healer. Luna passed away from old age a few years ago. Just like Luna, Lilly doesn't like Dominic, but she's warmed up to him.
I look in the rear view mirror and see half of my face. Dominic and I both look like we've aged only a few years. Some Wolves age differently than others, from what I've head. So far, I like how I'm ageing. Dominic and I married after two years of living in Virginia, no legally though. We're convict's, meaning only our fake identity's can get married. My ID say's, Annabelle Slater. Dominic's say's, Samuel Slater.
Soren Brooks know's how to slam fear into me. I'm not scared of death, I'm not scared of what happens to me. I'm scared for my Son and my Husband. Now that Soren knows where we are, he won't give up. There's just no way. We disappeared thirteen years ago, I'm sure he had given up. But now, he has a reason to keep at it.
What he said still haunts me.
I'll kill that kid if it's the last thing I do!
I glance at my arm and see the knife wound he left. It's not deep, but it hurts. I don't think Soren has children. All I picked up was one scent, and that was his. Probably the wrong address. That's what I get for mis-typing something in the GPS. I told Nick I didn't want one.
Cops are after us, Soren is after us, more than likely with his Pack is as well, what else could make this day worse? I look at Xander and see the blonde thirteen year old lost in his thoughts.
Nick always told me he looked like me, but I don't see it. I mean, we're similar, but Nick say's we look like brother and sister.
My thoughts are going everywhere. Ever since Soren, I've constantly looked over my shoulder. Sure, back then he was believed to be dead, but I couldn't help it. Now, I have a real reason to do it.
My train of thought crashes when the car comes to a stop. Xander pulls his headphones out and hops out. I see Brett working on the porch outside and wave. He returns it and comes jogging up to us.
"What's going on? Wasn't expecting ya'll." He say's.
"We have a problem." I reply.
"What do you mean? If it's Nick I can-" He tries to joke but I stop him, "I just came face to face with Soren."
He stares in astonishment, his eyes widened slightly.
"Oh." Is all he can say.
"We need a place to stay for a while?" I try to announce, but it comes out more like a question.
"Of course, head on inside." He say's.
"I just got a link from Samuel," Nick say's. Samuel is the Alpha of our Pack, "He said a man came by looking for us. If he's not mistaken, Soren was sitting in the car."
