Chapter 20: In My Journal
(Author's Note: Sorry I haven't updated in a while, my router got knocked out by the lightening from the last storm :/ Sooo I'm updating now :D... The song: Remain by Royal Tailor is attached above, it fits the chapter.) -Bri*
Taylor's POV:
I shuffle in my sleep and roll over, pulling the covers closer to me. I let out a sigh and inhale the sweet scent of pine. Just as I'm almost back asleep I jump up in alert when a large object comes crashing on me.
I let out a breath when I see it's just a dog. Wait, I don't have a dog. The female Red Healer stares at me in happiness with her nub wagging behind her. I stare in confusion, since when did Soren bring a dog home? Something about her is oddly familiar, but the thought leaves immediately when I see the room I'm in.
It's not mine.
Panic sets in and I leap off of the bed, but the covers catch my legs, causing me to fall and hit the floor with a loud thud. I groan lightly and the dog jumps off of the bed, sniffing my cover tangled legs.
Glancing around at the room I see that the walls are a light purple with dark hardwood floors with dark wooden furniture to match. On the deep brown wooden desk sits my journal. My eyes catch onto the three white wooden doors in the room.
I unwrap the covers from my legs and stand just in time for the door to casually open. I freeze when I see the police man from my dreams. One of the men drawn in my journal.
His eyes connect with mine and he freezes in his place as well, a certain emotion swirling in his familiar chocolate brown eyes. A dull ache suddenly begins to form in the back of my head, spreading forward.
I'm alarmed, but for some reason I'm not scared of him at all. Suddenly Seran comes to mind, what did they do with him?
"The boy is downstairs with us... He's ok." He say's, almost carefully, as if reading my thoughts.
He turns and leaves, leaving the door open widely. I can't help but think this is a dream. It has to be. Not that I can ever tell the difference.
I cautiously make my way out the door and fallow him from a distance down the stairs. At the bottom step I refuse to go further when I see the kitchen and living room come into view. Sitting at the counter is Seran with his hands crossed on the table.
Nothing but a stereo echo's through the large rooms. I recognize the song by: Royal Tailor, but I don't know the name. Seran looks up and jumps from his seat, cautiously standing near me.
A blonde haired boy then walks into the kitchen and see's me. The second he does so a pain erupts violently in the back of my head. It's not worthy of tears, but it's still pretty painful.
"Mom?" He directs the word towards me. I give a questioning glance and, who I think is Lincon, tells him, "Go get your father."
He gives me a final painful glance and rounds the corner towards a different room. Once he's out of sight it's like water just put out the flame in my head.
I finally get the courage to step into the kitchen and stand beside the bar, making sure to keep Seran by my side, but I'm still too paranoid to sit down. Every few seconds Lincon gives me a glance from over his shoulder as he goes through the cupboards.
A few seconds later and a man steps into the room, Dominic.
A large flare of pain erupts through my head and chest and I groan slightly, but I'm still standing.
He begins to walk up to me and for some odd reason, and animalistic growl erupts from my chest, causing him to stop. I didn't try to do that, I don't even know how I did it.
Seran pushes his side against mine for safety and Dominic growls. He's a Werewolf, too.
"Stop." I growl out. Dominic holds a powerful aura, and for some reason it intimidates everyone in the room but me. No one looks at him because he seems angry, they look at the floor. But I stare into his forest green eyes and dare him. That's when I realize that everyone in this room is drawn in my journal. Even the obliviously happy dog.
He comes closer and the pain causes me to lurch over as I hold onto the counter to stand. A sickness comes over me and I feel like I'm about to throw up.
A man suddenly runs into the room, once again, he is in the journal as well. I don't completely pay attention but I hear him yell, "Everyone out! You can't all be near her at once, it will hurt her!"
Dominic unwillingly leaves with a troubled expression. Once everyone but Lincon, who I can seem to bare, is gone the sickening pain slowly slides away and I stand upright again.
---Lincon's POV---
"I'll be back, if you're hungry there's food in the fridge." I tell Taylor and jog after Nick. I make sure Grant watches Taylor so she doesn't try anything.
When I step into Nick's room I see him sitting on his bed, staring blankly at the wall. Worry consumes me when I realize what's happening.
"Dominic-" He interrupts me.
"I have her back and now she hates me. She doesn't even know me." His voice claims mechanically. No emotion falters his face or his speech.
"Dominic she's going to remember, it's-" I once again don't get to finish.
"I'm tired of people saying that. You don't know that! Soren brain washed her! My Wolf is going to d-"
I do what I know I'll regret here in a second. Before he can finish his sentence I grab the lamp on his desk and throw it at him.
"If you give up Dominic I'll personally beat you myself! Just act normal, ok? I know it's hard! I'm trying, though! You, I, Xander, the guys, hell even the dog is going to act normal and we're going to get her to remember! Got it? We're going to act like this never happened. I'm going to try to explain everything to her and I will try and go from there. Her reaction is what we need to look at. We just need to find out what to do with the boy. Let's sort everything out and talk to her." I growl at him.
Surprisingly calm, almost in a faithless way, he nods his head.
"Now, this is what we're going to do..." I start.
(Sorry this one was kind of a filler, I was just in a rush to get this up for ya'll since I haven't updated like I should have. No more fillers after this, I promise :) -Bri*
