Chapter 2: Already A Convict (Duncan Philips as Lincon Purcell, picture above)

Taylor's POV:

"Xander," I call from the doorway of the porch, "You need to come inside."

I look up and see clouds coat the sky, large white snowflakes beginning to fall. The ground is already iced over, the snow will only add to it. Fortunately, the snow will hide our scent from other Wolves.

"Mom, I'm a Wolf, remember? It's easy to stay warm." He reply's, gripping his deep cherry red guitar.

"Xander, come inside." I reply, adding a firm tone to my voice. If a Wolf spots us from the woods, it's over. The snow flurry may help our scent, but it's not yet thick enough to be blinding. He let's out an irritated sigh and get's up, stomping towards the door like a child. I've noticed how bad his attitude and manners have been lately.

"Don't do that Xander." I growl as he shoves past me and into the house. Now I know how my mom felt. I don't know how she put up with me. He puts his guitar on the table and heads to the stairs.

"Whatever," He grumbles with his back to me. Once at the stairs he stops and asks, "And what's so wrong with going outside, anyway? I know we're hiding, Mom! But you won't tell me from what!"

"Stop raising your voice at me. I have a reason for everything I do, now go." I reply. He rolls his eyes and stomps up the stairs. Nick comes in the room and looks up the stairs, ready to put Xander in his place, but I hold up my hand to say stop.

He looks at me like I'm crazy. Xander comes back down and say's, "Oh and-" He's interrupted by the door bell. I'm glad because I don't want to know what he has to say.

I peek around the wall and into the hallway, Xander beside me looking as well. Brett opens the door and when I see dark colored hair, I yank Xander by the arm and out of view. Soren is the first thing that pops into my head. He goes to complain but I put my hand on his mouth, telling him to be quiet.

When he see's how serious I am, be nods his head and I take my hand away. I don't move from my position because of the squeaky wood floors. I listen to the conversation.

"Can I help you?" Brett ask's.

"Yeah uh, I'm looking for Taylor Fox. I used to work with her, my name is Lincon." The stranger say's.I suddenly recognize the voice and my fear fades.

"Link!" I yell as I pop up from behind the wall.

"Foxy!" He yells, a goofy smile on his face while throwing his arms open. I run and jump in his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist as he spins me.

Lincon was my best friend, and still is, when I was a cop. We worked together for the entire time I was there. Lincon is a very, how do I put this, bubbly person. He's silly, funny, and has the worse case of ADHD I have ever seen. He acts like a kid, it's hilarious. He's one of the best people to be around.

He's about 6'2' feet tall, nothing but muscle, has chocolate brown eyes and hair, which is usually spiked up with gel, and he's basically my brother. I had never told him about what happened. He would text me here and there, but I would never answer. So how does he know about Brett?

He put's me down and ask's, "Why didn't you tell me about this guy?! I'll kill 'em! Did he hurt you? You really did it this time you doof!" And there's the big Brother.

"Who told you?" I ask.

His posture of fake anger completely changes to calm and he say's, "Alpha Samuel. I'm a Wolf, duh!"

"And you never told me this?!" I ask, throwing my arms in the air.

"Not until now, I'm a Lone Wolf. Samuel told me everything," He reply's. His composure changes again and he pops me on my arm, saying, "Why didn't you tell me this?!"

Nick growls from behind me and shows his K-9's.

"Leave it Nick." I warn. Lincon sticks his tongue out at Nick and I laugh. Like I said, he act's like a child.

"What do you want, Link?" I ask.

"I wanted to see my best buddy!" He throws his arms around me and I can see the jealousy in Nick, "And I wanna help. I'm gonna kick Soren's sorry a- Aw he's so cute! Who is he?" He asks, referring to Xander.

"That's my boy, Xander. And this is Dominic Deleon, my mate." I reply.

"That..." He point's a Nick, "Is your mate? The criminal?! The one we've been after for years?!" He freaks.

"So you chased me?" Nick smirks.

"Shut up," I growl, "Ok Lincon, you can stay and help. But please calm down, it's almost dark out. Go upstairs. First door on the left is your room." I shove him to the stairs, but on his way out he say's, "My Baby's growing up so fast! She's already a convict!"

"What?" Xander ask's.

I look at Lincon and he takes off running, and I take off after him. I need to explain this to Xander before he get's the wrong idea.
